    I noticed that my account is frequently opened in IL (me) and NY. I changed my password a few times but it keeps happening.

    Any ideas?

    Using any kind of VPN or proxy settings? Something that could be "tricking" Gmail to think you're in NY because of network routing?

    If a key logger was running it could catch the password every time you are changing it.

    No VPN or Proxy. The key logger would have to be running on my machines, correct?

    When you open Gmail, scroll all the way down and look at the bottom right. It says Last Account activity: x minutes ago. if it's open in another location, it will give you the choice to click on details.

    Yes, some kind of trojan or virus, unlikely but worth doing a quick virus scan.

    I have the Gmail App on my phone but im not even logged in on it.

    I run a scan every couple of weeks and they say im clean.

    Very strange.

    It can also be caused by your internet provider, if you have a T1 line, fiber, cable modem, mobile internet, whatever - the location doesn't mean where you are, it means where the server is located that your ISP is accessing the internet from.

    From the locations/computers you access your gmail account, go to: http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and see what city is says you are in.
