So, has anyone found a way to always display external images on Gmail?
While I can't answer your question about images, I have a beef of my own. It appears that Google is using Gmail as a master cookie for all of its services. After I opened Gmail at work, I did some searches in Google Groups. Lo-and-behold, some decidedly NWS newsgroups (accessed from home) popped up in my "Recently Viewed Groups" frame at the office. Not cool.
Carbon. Thanks. Now, use your skills and go back and read the first post. ALWAYS display external images. I mean, I know when I get underage midget crossdressing monkey porn, I have to click that lil button, but that takes so much time. I want the images to pop up all the time, once I open the email.
As I understand it, that is an anti-spam technique. Many spammers use 1x1 pixel images to track email delivery and readership. By blocking the external images, they prevent that tracking.
Mine do, always. I don't have a feature to turn it off. It is a smaller picture, that you can click to enlarge or click a word beside it that says download.
LOL, sorry, dude... i looked it up and they give a pretty bland explanation; i think Tillman's right - there might not be a way to set it so that it always displays external images... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nop. I disabled it ..tried firefox..IE ...Disabled Norton firewall... I was thinking maybe we cant invite anymore ?? too many new accounts and they are having too much glitches to work on ??
