Gmail users, things I found useful in Labs

Last night I came across "preview pane" and "background send" in Labs. The former is something I really like (Outlook spoiled me) and the latter speeds up the foreground action.

I have a few other things in Labs enabled such as "send & archive", "quote selected text", and "auto-advance".

Just thought I'd share above in-case some don't know about Labs or haven't ventured there yet.

 

I have a lot of "Labs" enabled.

Multiple Inboxes is a great one. Set your top inbox to display "unread" messages, and you will always have your unread messages at the top of the screen, no matter when they arrived.

Undo Send is another I use frequently. Gives you some time between when you hit send and it actually goes. This way you can stop the email and make any changes you forgot (like actually attach the file you said you were going to).

"Video Chat Enhancements" for crystal clear video chat with my gChat contacts.

Navbar drag and drop to move some of the panes around.

Several more minor ones that really make Gmail awesome for me.

 

Thanks; I just enabled those and will give them a try. I don't video chat so can't try that one.

Don't use "undo send" much b/c I rarely catch my error in time. However, just noticed you can adjust the delay and I turned mine up to the max, 30 sec.

Not in labs, but I have "Keyboard shortcuts" on too.
