Hi all, as promised here is a thread on the GMG Racing 200 cell sport cats I put in yesterday. To make a long story short: - great service from GMG - they cost 1 to 2K less than the other brands - no ecu retune needed - no CEL lights - 100% smiles from the passengers and many third fingers from pedestrians Will post fly by vids as soon as I can, in the meantime, here are 10 seconds of aural bliss from the GMG shop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKycoqlkbNA Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few pics of the cats. They are 200 cell and are made to order, the weight savings is 12 pounds per cat so 24 pounds total. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
while i'm at it figured i'd post pics of the other exhaust components, these are the innotech alloy f1 headers (pictured here still connected to the stock cats) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just took her out and I was so loud that some cops pulled me and my friend over. Result: no ticket just compliments about the stance and the sound which is now EPIC, the new cats make the burbles and pops from the exhaust sound like detonations!! Another interesting effect of the new cats is that the coolant temp rarely gets over 210 now, I guess because of the less restrictive flow..
LOL crackle city, fireworks on Ventura Blvd., even the cops dig it! ) Check out the much larger diameter of the matrix intakes compared on the GMG cats compared to other manufacturers, the design of the part is amazing as there is pracically no tubing from the opening of the matrix intake to the matrix coffer giving totally EPIC sound. The two first pics are of the GMG cats, the others of the other manufacturers: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sounds incredible,200cell hi flow cats is the way to go. A complete setup really changed the feeling of the car, love it.
Agreed! An additional great design feature is that these units have sensor extentions so as to prevent the risk of cel's, all the other aftermarket units don't (see pics in my previous post). best Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just after installing the last component of the exhaust outside the GMG shop in Santa Ana, California (and the Valley never slept again) https://www.facebook.com/TeamGMG/photos/a.422730454406063.103404.421534481192327/854493264563111/?type=1&theater Image Unavailable, Please Login
It sounds wicked! It's loud but more notably, has a very deeeeep sound to it...kind of similar to a modded Murcielago. The backfires sound like a machine gun. Half the people in line at starbucks turned to look outside lol Waking up Ventura Blvd is right
LOL, the depth actually comes from the bmc filter, the cats add volume to the backfires and scream to the tone: truly a musical instrument now
I was able to take a ride in this 458 today and it is truly epic...I think you have found THE perfect setup for our cars! Waking up Encino...no, it wakes up the Valley Best - DW
Thank you for the kind words dustman and schatten, I am happy with the sound too! Fly by vids coming soon
Thanks guys! fly by vids coming soon, in the meantime here is a link to a vid of an italia with a roughly similar setup (the car is not straight piped, it has GMG's 200 cell cats) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-imdaIMYpA
