So, I have this project for school. I've been looking all over the 'net trying to find GM's Mission and Vision Statements. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Anyone know where I can find them? Or if they even have one (which might explain some problems recently... :) ). Seriously, though...any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Here it is, I paraphrased though:

"We at GM will strive to be the best retirement and healthcare insurance company possible. We will lavish the unions with whatever they please, as long as we can keep our managerial jobs and benefits. And if this requires us to build cars, we will begrudgingly continue to do so for as long as the lazy uneducated masses buy them. We will sell cars for a loss as part of our business plan, and should we ever make a profit, we will bring the Aztek back."

GM has no vision...or at least not from a design standpoint. Take a different path and try writing a paper about how GM is failing because of this lack of vision.

Thank you for the help. I'm sorry that I wasn't clear on the assignment. I'm doing a brief (10 min or so) presentation on the differences between Toyota's vision/mission and Ford & GM's vision/mission. I've found both Toyota and Ford's vision/mission. Just looking GM's. If they don't have one, or at least not a public one, that would certainly help me and make things more clear.

Again, I do appreciate the help that is provided here.

Evidently, there is no vision at GM. Won't stop me from buying more of their cars, but as an organization, they seem to be pulled 200 ways to Sunday.

They need to start their comeback by firing every one of the current board members.

I also did not find a Mission Statement for General Motors, in general. I believe this is because there isn't just one Mission Statement, but rather each division has its own. Here is a blurb on what GM is into:

GM cars and trucks were sold globally under the following brands: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, GM Daewoo, Holden, HUMMER, Opel, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn and Vauxhall. GM operates one of the world's leading finance companies, GMAC Financial Services, which offers automotive, residential and commercial financing and insurance. GM's OnStar subsidiary is the industry leader in vehicle safety, security and information services.

However, I did find a Vision Statement for GM. Notice that it is broad, maybe too broad. I also found the Mission Statement for Saturn.

I wonder if you got all of the Vision and Mission statements from the different parts of GM, if they would be in conflict with each other? Sounds like a good topic for a 10min presentation.

Just wanted to thank you guys for your help and insight. The presentation went alright. Unfortunately, I did not deliver it as professionally as it should have been. Other than that, the professor liked the content. You guys were a big part of that. THANK YOU!!

And don't forget the managerial FAT CATS sitting in the GM offices that are getting 10 times that amount plus perks to take power lunches and conduct meetings at lavish corporate retreats.
