Hincapie wins a stage!!! I am really wishing he inherits Lance's team captain status on Armstrong's retirement. I am going to call my aunt in NY and ask to scan pix of George and I when we were two lanky teenage kids from Long Island and upload them.

i'm so proud of my buddy georgie boy! i was jumping up and down...kinda like i did when the bosox won the series!

i have felt that george is the best cyclist in the world for the last few years. he has won the tour for lance for the last few years. he blew up the race last year and drove it til it broke and look at him this year...more of the same. it has been hard for me to hear people only talk about lance and forget about the strongest team ever assembled to race for him. i would have liked lance to check his ego and race for george next year but we all know lance won't cause he is a total di.k!

so great to see george win a stage.

George could finish Top 10 tour, but I don't think he can match Americans Levi and Floyd, much less up and comer Yaroslav Popovych. That is who will maybe lead the Discovery team next year. Also, Ivan Basso might have been better competition for Lance this year if not riding the Tour of Italy.

Keep and eye on American and Discovery rider Tom Danielson, he has the talent in the mountains to win overall in a couple years. He should be on Discovery team for Tour of Spain.

Though GH is best known for his one day classic rides, he has been a shadow to Lance for a very long time sacraficing himself there fore not usually getting the top results. Floyd, Levi, Fred, Bobby, we do have a crop of good Americans out there, but I just hope GH gets his chance to shine. I do believe that Eki may really be the new heart and soul of the team when Lance leaves though. as the saying goes: Always the bridesmaid...

Now I am getting nostalgic for my rides up and down route 110 from Huntington, through Farmingdale and down to Amityville. aaahh the good old days of 1989, being 16 and carefree...
