We will meet tomorrow again for Go-Karting at indoor Kart in Ft. Lauderdael off Commercial (West to Powerline, north on your right side) Meeting is at 7:00pm and everybody is welcome to join. Bring your own helmet or get a loaner free there!
I think I'm going to meet up with ya'll tonight and race some karts if thats ok with you guys. I don't know if its a F-car only event or not though so I don't want to intrude.
Let me make this clear! THERE IS NO F-CAR ONLY EVENTS !!!! Gheez, how often do I have to say it! Yesterday was a small group but fun. Came down in my time to 20:64 from 21:40 2 weeks ago. Lesson I learned yesterday: Don't eat a sandwich and drink a big gulp of soda (48oz) before you go karting! Adds weight and the soda will do crazy things with that sandwich. I was always between stopping to go puke and smiling when passing people. 54 laps
Let us emphazise, Squideria Calamari events are open to anyone wishing to take part regardless. No one is discriminated against and no one is treated any differently than anyone else. There are no dues, no hidden agendas and no political nonsense so often associated with motoring clubs. This is the creed of the Squids. Sorry to have missed the Karting event last night. I did the same thing last time as I downed a big bottle of water before going out on the track. After about 10 minutes, that water started sloshing around my gut which got a bit uncomfortable so I guess the lesson is, hydrate well before you get there. BHW
I went yesterday with my girlfriend in the NSX and saw 4 or 5 porsche's (one was a GT2) there. The guys didn't look too friendly so I didn't really go over and talk. When I was walking out, there was a bunch of WRX STi's out there.
The next would be this coming Thursday, however I will be out of town and can not attend. Bart, maybe you can organize and gt the guys together? Martin
Yeah, I was talking to people about the Karting nights at Celebration yesterday and there was a lot of interest. Charlie and Charlie, Jr. are interested to come but Sr. is busy with a big project and Jr. is in school but only for a couple more weeks so I'm guessing when school lets out, we may get a few more participants. Let's say that we took the Thursday night slot because the place is not so crowded as it would be (say) on the weekends and even if we drive for 20 minutes or so, its still a good time to see our friends and meet new ones. I'm planning to be there this coming Thursday but not before a trip to the chiropractor to straighten my back out. Damn 85lb monitor did a number on me during the move! BHW
