I was waiting for Michael Mann to finish the TV series LUCK, which got finished by cancellation (at least they got in one full season) partly due to not big enough audience numbers and zealous PETA activists angry because some horses died (I am involved with raising thoroughbreds and we lose at least one a year just standing around the corral).I was hoping he would choose between the LeMans story of Ford vs. Ferrari from the non fiction book Go Like Hell (Playboy articles editor AJ Baime) and some story about the days of the gold rush in Calif. but it looks like he chose the gold rush. I also read somewhere (and can't find it now) that Opie's (Ron Howard) movie called Rush about a '70s F1 racers (Lauda/Hunt) caused the studio to wait until they decide on Go Like Hell to see what the audience is for the '70s racing movie. Maybe it's my age (over 60) but I prefer the looks, the ambiance, the cars, and the real life characters of Sixties racing much more than the '70s by which time you couldn't see the drivers because of full coverage helmets, etc..

Here's the projects Mann was considering:
Capa (about a Spanish civil war photographer)
    Agincourt (England)
    Big Tuna (gangster)
    Gold
    Go Like Hell

Anybody got any more info on whether Go Like Hell is in limbo?
