What is a good source for air-conditioning parts? I'm looking to get a larger condenser, new drier, and a couple of new hoses. I replaced the compressor (went with a Sanden style) back in 2010 but don't remember the company I used. Thx.

I've just been googling around as I need parts for my air conditioning project, but most of the parts have come from coldhose.com. I'd love to see how you get a bigger condenser in there. I'm not saying it's impossible, just having gone through this I want to see! I replaced mine, but it is essentially the same size with modern construction.

+1 for Coldhose....I just bought some reduced barrier hose to try out. Much smaller hoses to snake thru the tunnels. Now I need to find a crimper tool for reduced barrier fittings.

A couple of years ago I bought a Sanden from Italian Car parts, it was 600.00

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you,

Sorry but different car. I posted in this section because this group is the most hands on owners in my opinion. Probably cleaning 45 years of crud out of the condenser and radiator might be a good start! Image Unavailable, Please Login

I've been on the same boat: the info I've found on the 308 forum (see Carl rose guide on https://ferrari.cdyn.com/carl_rose_docs/Ferrari 328 AC Recharge.pdf) does apply to the 365/400 cars.

There are a few exceptions though: the recommended compressor seal kit does not apply enough pressure, so you have to buy an Aspera seal kit (eBay). Also the 400 can accept a wider range of driers as we've got more room.

I got a Chinese condenser meant for light trucks, same size as original, but twice as thick : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32363087412.html . Please note that the connectors are the newer types (with O-rings). Not an issue if you also change the hoses. They are now getting rid of these for $30... I should have bought a couple for spares, as this condenser is badly exposed to debris.

I notice you do not have the Lucas Fans, your fans are compatible with the much more powerfull ones sold for the Golf cab, maybe worth a look. (https://www.mister-auto.com/ventilateur-moteur/volkswagen/golf/golf-i-cabriolet-155-1-5-70ch-1979-1983/)
