    Usually after many of those landings, the pilot has to be pulled from his seat in which a loud 'POP' is heard from their seat:D Probably nothing worse that being is a Cessna 150 on a short final with strong X Winds! I believe about 3/4 into the vid, the 747 was at Hong Kong's old airport, a vid that has been on you tube for a while. The 15-20 seconds of video prior was CRAZY! Hats off to the pilots that are proficient in these conditions and hold the quick thinking brain cells to abort landings when needed.

    To this day I hate flying, so when we fly to China I try and sleep as much as possible, especially when we land. The last time we went we got seats by the window, lucky us, I could look out of the window and see the wings going up and down. Jennifer said that I turned three shades of green looking at them...lol...lol...

    Right...lol...lol...I just can't imagine being on a plane that landed like that. There isn't enough alcohol in the world to make that an easy ride!

    Do what I do on returns from China. I take an AM flight out of HK (around 8 - 11AM) and stay up the entire night. After takeoff, I pop the seat into the near bed position and get a wakeup from the flight attendant when on the long final. The last trip, I woke up with a near broken left arm.....................That was from my buddy smacking me every twenty minutes for snoring through the entore flight! It's a great 11.5 hours of sleep and I'm all rested when we land.

    WOW, I really don't see how you sleep like that on an airplane...lol...lol... The times that we have went to China have been via LA X and the to Guang Zhou China, then from there to Chong Qing. I don't mind the flight from Atlanta to LA, it's just when we leave LA to go to China, that's when I start to worry a lot...lol...lol... I can usually get a few hours of sleep off and on but no more than that. I remember the first time I went there after we had taken off from LA and the unfasten seat belt light went off about 30 people jumped into the center seats. I was wondering what in the hell they were doing, after about 6 hours into the flight watching them lay across the center seats I had a good idea why they did that.


    Thank God I have never had to use one of those yet, I really don't get sick, I just get really nervous that something is going to happen...lol...lol... I guess that is where the pills come in handy at.

    How about the passengers? I would guess that a few sitting on the left side of the plane left a few loads in their pants!!! WOWZERS! Wonder if the FAA or the airline had a few words with the captain over that aborted landing (and what the second attempt looked like! I just think their should have been a bit more precision exercised in that approach.

    I was wondering that myself, if the first one was like that then God knows what the second one must have been like. I think if I were a passenger on that airline I would need to have a talk with the FAA about that one. I would assume that there are limits on the speed of cross winds and precautions that a pilot must take when trying to land in something like that. I guess common sense is swept under the carpet in a situation like that unless it is an emergency. (low on fuel, sick passenger)
