Echoing what colorfull said about the insulation: Interesting idea! Good job; looks really nice! Jason
Not sure. Just looked at it. It’s a red silicone jacketed wire bundle. Goes from the F1 pump area down the side of the transmission and underneath. Definitely not aftermarket.
Mine is run through the harness anchor just forward of that one. I wonder if the process changed or one of ours is off.
Joe, IIRC your VIN is close to mine. Here’s a pic of my wire routing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. My guess is it was misrouted then during the clutch replacement in the past. I’ll correct it the next go around. Thanks @colorfull for noticing!
Kline inconel went in today! Damn near took all day because of all the cleaning and tidying up I did while everything was off, especially the wiring for the tail lights. Found one of the Morimoto thumb nuts in the pan which lead me to check the tightness on all of them. Conclusion is that while the thumb nuts are nice, I’m going to swap to a lock nut instead when i get the chance. Also, my F1 reservoir cap was leaking. Left a mess all over it. Replaced the line attachment o-ring with a new one since it was perished but bought a new cap from Ricambi just to be on the safe side. My left frame rail had water dripped from the rivnuts that hold the heat shield on over the exhaust. This was the case last time too. I decided to drill a drainage hole in the frame as there was no other way for it to get out. Imagine my surprise when almost a cup of water came gushing out. I don’t know if there’s another drain hole that’s plugged, but the right side didn’t have that condition. The inconel looks amazing. Almost silvery. I didn’t get a chance to take it for a spin but the sound was noticeably different just on cold start. Can’t wait to try it out later this week. Still waiting on the headers to arrive. my old stainless system is now for sale as well Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Youll be able to throw that one in the F1 spare parts box when you do your throwout bearing to brake fluid.
No sir, the red cable is the clutch position sensor. You cant remove it though without dropping the transmission.
Wheels mounted today! Absolutely love them. I was missing the silver although I did enjoy the darker look for a while. Just a reminder that my old wheels are for sale in the classifieds section of the forum for a smoking deal. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Excellent. You can apply ceramic coating to the carbon fiber clear coat, it prevents scratches as you dust them off or wash them from time to time ... I am OCD with them being clean (just like you ).
I did 2 layers of carpro Dquartz Go .... which I do for all paint surfaces, car included. Seems to last well .You can get it in 30ml bottles (smallest available afaik).
I have the C Quartz on the outside and it's been holding up well. Had my Rivian done with the D Quartz when it came out. Firm believer in the coating. Went over the outside recently with the CarPro Reload but didn't notice much of a difference. That stuff was difficult to buff out though, definitely need to keep it to small sections. Wonder if the reload alone would be a good protectant.
Just wanted to say that It's great that you have an installer you trust.... I literally have to pay a mobile service an arm and a leg to install my tires (they have a Hunter electronic machine in the back of the truck) , as everyone else F8**D my rims during the tire install. When I mention Ferrari wheels, they all say they don't do them ... I paid 500 for the tire swap from stock rims to Scuderia....
Did some smalls today. I noticed that @ditpixs’ door opened way more smooth than mine. Apparently I had the old style striker plate with plastic bushing that gets eaten away. Replaced it with new ones that are solid metal. Very cheap update. Also, even though my F1 fluid reservoir cap seemed to be holding with the new o-ring I put in, I went ahead and replaced the entire cap since it was inexpensive.
