Goin for a surgery tomoro

Minor surgery is only minor if it's somebody else's. My uncle is an anesthesiologist, and I would recommend you make sure yours knows about anything unusual: allergies, etc.

But you really don't need to worry: young, healthy people are easy, it's the old codgers on death's door that are tricky.

Anyway, good luck, and don't eat or drink anything for 12 hours before surgery!

Try not to wake up during surgery screaming, it really messes with the anesthesiologist.

I had this done. No problem. Everyone will think you are a movie star getting plastic surgery and the good looking nurses will be all over you.

You may not want to go home on Saturday or you may die of too much sex in the hospital.

LOL. That would really mess with your surgeon who would the unleash a verbal tirade on the anesthesiologist!!!!! Been there and had to do that.

I went in for major abdominal surgery 11yrs ago and woke up not once or twice but THREE times during surgery. the first time it startled the surgeon and he looked over to I assume the anesthesiologist and then it was lights out for me..the second time I awoke i remember asking the surgeon what i was supposed to do with the dribble of spit coming out of my mouth, I even actually lifted my right arm to point(my arm was tied to a board at the elbow so it didn't move much. the poor surgeon about had a heart attack and started swearing like a sailor at the dumbass anesthesiologist.

the third flipping time it happened the surgeon just looked over and gave up. when surgery was done they woke me up and then if you can believe this they had ME transfer myself from the operating table to the bed! apparently at 6'4" and 260lbs they couldn't lift me or weren't willing to risk it.

a few yrs later my sister was telling me I could have sued for $$$ for that. I couldn't see why, I wasn't scarred by it, I'm not afraid of surgery and these things happen. I had a neighbor who is a surgeon and he was telling me that it happens alot to people who have fast metabolisms and the larger or bigger you are the harder it is to get right.

 

you know people I've told this to all respond in a horrified manner. but I just don't find it that bad, the surgery went fine in that I'm still here and can now walk around.

for me the worst part was recovery, the pain was pretty bad and after you go home the morphine doesn't go with. thats when I found out that vicodin and me do not get along! nothing like puking up your guts after major abdominal surgery! thankfully that only lasted for about 3days -the pain that is. 2wks later I was carrying a tv up a flight of stairs! reckless I know, but hey the good TV was downstairs and my bedroom was upstairs!

 

The only time I've been under anesthesia was for when i got my wisdom teeth removed, took them about half a dozen times to find a freaking vein, other than that it wasn't bad at all. I woke up afterwards and then passed out at home after chowing down on some vicodin. Good luck with the surgery.

I had gum surgery, and chose laughing gas (NO). When I started going under, I felt this weird feeling with all my nerves on fire. Then zonked out, and felt good it was over when I started to come to. Then I realized the Dr. had knocked the mask off my nose, he noticed and moved it back. 5-6 times he did so. I don't think I'll ever use NO again.

Well, unless I install it in a car!!!
