I've got a similar situation with one of my grandfathers.. unfortunately everyone in the family is reluctant to talk about the subject (this has happened a few times with other family members that weren't necessarily bad people) and I'm just afraid I don't have much time left. Dear Anthony, Yes, our daughter, Carol Lesley TUSCHER is your mother and we are, obviously your grandparents, Pat and Mick ( Joan is my first name which we never use in the family). We have a picture here of you and your mother in our house in London when you were about 3, and you are standing in a small sailing dinghy....does this strike a chord? I will arrange for this and some other pics to be scanned and sent to you shortly.You have a half sister, Sara, who is just coming up to 18 years old next month. We , Mick and I, have been trying to trace you for the last 20 years and had no idea whatsoever as to which country to start looking in. Did your Dad, Ali, ever remarry after his divorce from Carol? There are so many questions that we would like to ask and hope that this is the first of many e mails where we can try to bridge the last 20 years. The photo you have sent is great and I think that you bear a strong resemblance to your dad, although there is a likeness to your half sister. Bearing in mind that your dad was not very tall and all our family are around the 5ft 10 - 6ft mark - what height did you end up growing to? We haven't spoken to Carol yet about you but will do some time this week. If you go to the family tree on Genes Reunited and click on to my details and Mick's details there are photos on each of us and I will send others by e mail. We have also got pics of your Dad and Nuchin and your Grandmother and will post these after having them scanned. Someone will be helping me to scan and send, since Mick has Parkinson's Disease and I have arthirits and Mick does all the internet stuff... Wow....congratulations!!! I am speechless right now. I absolutely cannot believe that someone can post a thread on a Ferrari board about trying to find his mother and actually make it all happen within time! Thank guys...It has been an interesting day. I have got some emails now and tons of pics to go through. They have asked me to come to London late August to see her and surprise both my mom and sister. I spoke to my dad and he offered to pay for the ticket to send me out. Apparently she never got remarried and now lives with her daughter. My grandparents told me that they have been searching for me for over 20 years. They didn't know where to look. The contacted a few private eyes but they had assumed I was in Iran. I don't know what to expect nor understand how I should feel. this is one of the most monumental moments of my life and I'm just in awe, almost have no emotion or reaction which kinda freaks me out. They asked me for pics of my family but since my dads house burnt in 01 its kinda hard to find pics. All my recent pics are in LA with friends and out drinking. Tomorrow they promised to send me pics of my mom and sister. They only had old ones scanned. I guess she has to get them. Kinda excited to see that. Apparently i bear some resemblance to my sister. I don't know how to talk to them or what to say but I guess its going ok so far..... Thank you all for the support and kind words. I will keep everyone posted as the whole thing progress. Antony
Outstanding news....May I ask (and you can refuse to answer if you want), how exactly did you get spilt from your mom and that family? Also, why Iran? Stuff like this makes me wonder what my birth-related grandparents were like (my dad's side, my father's mom got killed in an accident when and his dad killed himself the night before he was suppose to pick him up when he was 7, after that we was adopted after foster care (was a trucker, and no related family is around). Anyways, keep us updated.
my mom is British and my dad is Iranian. They thought I went to Iran for some reason I guess. They got divorced when I was young and my dad got custody so we moved here and the rest was history... Antony
