I went to the Turkish GP but didn't get back until after Monaco and didn't do a posting until last night on another somewhat related thread, but want to pass my information on to those who might be interested in attending this GP in the future or are trying to decide what GP to go to. First of all, Istanbul is a great city to visit. There are tons of small hotels gathered around the center of the tourist area where most of the attractions are, so you can walk to most things. The hotels sell tickets for transportation to the races on comfortable tour buses. I paid 30 E, which is the lowest price I saw, by shopping around.
I sat at the last turn and would do so again. There were really three turns there and all involved passing. All seats were good in this grandstand. It is an easy walk back to the main Grandstand where all the concessions and action is. Most importantly, it is near the parking lot so I didn't have to walk miles as I have at some tracks. The stands at the last turn (stands #8) also are directly in front of the entrance to the pits so you see additional action. If you can pick up a lunch to bring along at your hotel (or somewhere else) you will probably be better off than buying something at the track.

    Very interesting feedback, thanks!

It does appear to be a beautiful facility as seen on TV...
