I'm going to take a trip to Italy in April and besides all the usual cities to go to and places to see, I'm planning on visiting the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani factories. I came across this site: http://www.motorstars.org/ENG/proposal.htm

I was wondering if anyone has used the for the tours and if they have any feedback. I'm not a Ferrari owner yet, so I can't actually visit the factory.

They also give you an option of driving a F430 for 20 minutes for 100 euros.

Let me know the pros/cons of using these guys as tour guides if you have experience with them.

Honestly, it's so easy to navigate your way around, I would hesitate to use these tour guides. Just don't think the premium is worth it. Additionally, after you visit the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello, there is a "430 rental service" right across the street as well as a Lamborghini rental. Same price, the rental guy rides shotgun. I didn't do it but they told me about it. I would save the money and have some fun planning and doing some simple navigation to add to the enjoyment of your trip.

    Have fun!!

There is a thread somewhere on FChat with one of our brother's where he went to Italy. He was able to drive a 430 Scud as a rental. I think €300 for 45 mins? Said it was well worth it. Sorry I can't help you find it but it may be worth your time to search it out.

    Have a great trip!

You can easily visit all those places yourself. Just book the Planet Hotel ( http://www.planethotel.org/ ) in front of the Ferrari factory. Galleria Ferrari is around the corner. You'll need a car to drive to Lambo/Pagani, maybe 15 mins driving.

I've booked the planet hotel twice, first time I had view on the factory and second time we got a top floor room with view on Fiorano test track!

You might also look into www.carguytour.com . They not only visit Ferrari, Lamborghini,Maserati,Pagani, but all the cool design houses:pininfarina,Bertone,ItalDesign,Zagato. Schedoni leather, and a very cool restoration shop. While it may be easy to navaigate around Italy, gaining access to all the aforementioned places on your own is almost impossible. You have to know someone to get into many of the places mentioned.

Don't forget the Ducati. Agusta, Aprila, & Cagiva shops, although they have one-half the number of wheels.

I would highly recommed them! Back in Dec/Jan. I went over to Italy to see the factories and I used them for Pagani and he(it's owned by one guy) was very knowledgeable about the factories since he has worked in most of them. We just took taxis everywhere which wasn't bad, but if you wanted a seemless trip you could just go around on his tour that hits them all. As mentioned before there are a couple places around Maranello that have places were you can drive Ferraris. Have fun!

Awesome suggestions guys. The reason why I wanted to go with the tour is exactly what ferraripanoz mentioned, the fact that the guy who owns the site knows the ins/outs and can probably get better access than I can just showing up. I'm going to go through both threads that were linked and read up as much as I can.

If I can get the same access to the factories/museums without the tour then I'll go for it and just plan it out myself. Anyone have any contacts/tour organizers at the respective factories?
