Question. Looking at a 348 this week. Good price. Problem (maybe) it has a 355 nose, grille and wheels. Hurt the sale price? Help in negotiation? Title is not salvage. (I am guessing a front end bump and the owner found those parts cheaper.) What do those pieces run if I wanted back to stock? So far all else looks good. Talked to owner. Going to get some more information later today. Thanks in advance, Paul
Franken-anything is a derog term to describe a bastardized version of the original. Possible in this case, but adding 355 parts to a 348 can be far from a Franken-anything job. Take the infamous 358 race car of Plugzits. It has a 355 back end body and subframe for the 348 drive line. Far better and lighter. It looks great. There are a few 348's that have had 355 noses and/or back light panels. They also look great. Keep an open mind. Review the quailty of work. Don't be a purist or snob on a non-collectible model such as the 348 or 355. The cool thing about 348's is their ability to be customized and upgraded. Just don't get carried away and turn it into a Hello Kitty car. Witness, the 358 a Franken-Ferrari. Image Unavailable, Please Login
