LOL, because it's so worth it. John Houghtaling & Franco Valobra are like the Hugh Hefners of the French Quarter... No expense is spared; everything is top notch... What other event has Ferrari police cars as escorts...? No one else in New Orleans is gonna shuttle you from your hotel to a black tie balcony on Bourbon Street in a horse drawn buggy... Who was the only party last year to have LIGHT-UP beads...? The street below our balcony was SO CROWDED, the cops came by and shut us down for 15 minutes so the crowd would dispurse... We went inside and had dinner, then came back out and started it up all over again...
DES, I will be there in the back ground making sure everythng is OK. Franco is going to work my butt off. Kelly
Actually, the $895 entry fee does not cover the costs incurred with this boutique 4-day event. Our sponsors, mainly Pirelli and Shell, help bridge the gap between total costs and revenue, but the current price is nothing less than fair. Also, consider some other associated costs. The vehicles are guarded the entire 4 days, we have completely open bars during all events, and don't forget the amount of police that will be present for the Friday and Sunday escorts. The last number I have for the Sunday Rally approaches 60 police motorcycles alone. Lots of smaller costs (from ice sculptures to Waterford crystal awards) add up, but the main point is that this year's French Quarter Classic will be worth every cent.
I am going.... Marion is coming as well. A few others from the Miami area are in as well. It will be a party all right.
One correction Charles, Ferrari of Houston spends as much as any other sponsor. They ship thier whole race team over here. Can you image the cost of that? We cannot to forget to mention them or Eurocopter. Kelly
This event is a bargain, high class, top drawer all the way and wonderful people. And electric ice cubes-what could be better?
Time is counting down! This thing is going to be unreal. Hey Richard, Charlie and I might have something in the works coming up, will keep you informed!
I'm glad someone started this thread. There's a lot of things that need to be ironed out in the next two weeks so that everything runs smoothly on the 11th; it's going to be a big day for everyone involved, especially in regards to the movie. The timeline that I have worked out for on-time arrival in the Big Easy has us leaving Savannah a bit before 4:00AM in order to make our "pickup" at the Atlanta airport and still rendezvous with Frank, Terry and Co. @ 9:00AM. Frank and Terry, I have PM'ed you both my contact information again just to make sure you have it. Please give me a call at your soonest convenience so that we can hammer out an exact meeting point as well as any other details that need to be dealt with prior to our little road rally. Tito, give me a call when you get a chance so we can catch up...I'm eager to hear about your big surprise, but if it involves any of your "friends from home" you'll have to count me out!
Terry, since the film crew has to go to the airport on the morning of the 11th before meeting up with us at 9am, we need to come up with a meeting spot somewhere South of the airport. Do you know of an exit number and good location we can meet at ?
Do I need to bring my make up artist ??? The car will look great but I need all the help and can get to match up?? Can't wait to roll down to N.O, this year will be just spectacular. See you all there Roland F40LM
