I'm going with my girlfriend to Vegas in late July for her 21st birthday. I know the where to stay in Vegas topic has been beaten to death, but where should we stay if we're younger and she's turning 21 and wants to have some fun? Was thinking the Bellagio, MGM's West Wing, Venetian, or the Wynn. Any ideas, thanks
I think a little while back there was a thread about Vegas Clubs, one F-chatter posted information and an opinon on almost every club out there. Hope you can find it... Cheers
Two other places that tend to have a younger crowd are the Palms and the Hard Rock. http://www.palms.com/ http://www.hardrockhotel.com/home.php I won't claim they are as highly rated as the ones you mention; just depends on what you're looking for.
You can almost never go wrong with and Hotel in Vegas. But if you want to make sure you are at a more youthfull hotel try - The Palms, Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay. (also all have great nightlife)
Also, here's a link to a post of mine a little while ago, which in turn contains links to several of the Vegas "information" threads. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=135798284&postcount=9
I think Wynn is too much $ for a 21st bday party. Mirage wasnt bad. Venetian is right across the street, Caesars Palace right next door and on the other side is another Hotel that had a pretty bangin' nightclub. Cant remember which hotel. I was at a Maxim party in the nightclub inside the Hardrock. HardRock seemed to be a great party place. I would stay there when I go back out. Only draw back is youre not on the strip. Take her to Tao for dinner. Its in the Venetian. You will NOT regret it.
I was in there to see an awards show. Place seemed gorgeous. Im sure it has night life. Its too big not to. Its way down one end of the strip if i remember correctly.
The Venetian is my favorite hotel on the strip (although I haven't stayed at Bellagio), but it's only drawback is that it's so (relatively) far north on the strip compared to all "hot spots". Granted, the Wynn just opened next door to the north, but a year ago, that wasn't the case. The Palms *is* great for young people, but unless you're planning on spending the majority of your stay in Vegas AT the hotel in which you're staying, The Palms is a poor choice for a first-timer as it's so far off the strip. A simple taxi ride (under $10) should get you to the Palms from any hotel that's mid-strip. The walk from the Palms to the Strip is not one that you'd want to regularly do, so stay on the strip, and if The Palms calls to you - call a cab. Although I mentioned that The Venetian is "too far north", it's actually mid-Strip. There's just not a lot north of there that I think the two of you would want to do. That said, it's still an AMAZING hotel, and I highly recommend it. I think Bellagio is also one of the best-of-the-best in Vegas, but you may not want to pay the price for a room that, for the most part, you'll hardly be in. Monte Carlo is a good value...but many of the other hotels already mentioned are well worth your look. Don't forget Caesar's Palace, too. Finally, Fodor's has some good recommendations for Vegas newbies on their website. It's probably worth a check - http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgresults.cfm?destination=las_vegas@87 Best of luck! Aaron
I like Monte Carlo as well, the rooms are right next to the valet, so no chugging luggage accross any length of floor..nice pool and have a wave pool and round current type pool as well. but in July it will be mega hot, and make the best out of the water, Manadaly Bay, has supposedly the best pool area out there. The new "hotel" is suppose to be nice as well. Lucky for you rooms are usually cheaper in summer with alot of deals out.
Think we decided on the MGM. She said she didn't want to stay somewhere with a bunch of young people Thanks for all your help.
MGM was very nice, I enjoyed it. I went out there and stayed in a suite which was very cool, it was at the end of the hallway and it made for a very late-night walk back.. There was an afterhours lounge at the MGM that we went to, which was cool. Studio 54 was pretty cool too, we got there too late though. I also went to Pure when I was out there, it is nice but the Host's were a little cocky.
Check out the deal for MGM: http://deals.virtualtourist.com/5/viewDeal-6015-836630-1---1-Las_Vegas-viewDeal.html?wosid=BlVFtTlegGqUqVp3ayztZw

I hope you have a good time, cause every time I've ever walked thru there it was a dump... I have never stayed there so cannot offer a review of their rooms or restaurants...
MGM was nice 10 years ago but for you the best places will be Hard Rock or Palms....I prefer Palms but always hit Hard Rock on Sundays for Rehab at the pool. I will be back on the 9th
We're booked at the MGM. August 13-17th, then we have to go right to Philadelphia for business, getting back to Austin on the 21st. We're just trying to decide on shows and resturants now. Prime, Lawrys, Craftsteak, Le Cirque all sound good. For shows maybe O or Le Femme. Any suggestions?
Prime is decent, but don't get your hopes up too high. Service is so/so and the food is "good", but not great. Have fun
Kind of want to make a list of 3 resturants to go to. Get the reservations and everything taken care of before we leave.
