One of those things I do each time in Vegas to help anchor the experience over many trips--eating at a place called Fat Burger! It's a casual, very down to earth burger place that feels straight out of the 50s. In between all the ridiculous buffets and other glitz, it can be refreshing.

    That's my little Vegas "secret," family-safe :).

Have fun and live it up!

Fatburger is good. All over LA. Owned by Magic Johnson. If you golf, go out to Paiute.

The old Harrah's collection is gone, but there is at least one auto museum on the strip, right?

Go to the Casino across from Mirage, I believe it is called the IMperial Palace.

It has a very good car collection that is worth visiting. No F-cars but some amazing cars - Tucker, Dusenbergs(10+), MB's, Original Cobra's and some cool old Presidential Limo's and one of kind oddities.

Was just in Vegas the other week. The Imperial does have a car show but the number of cars is dwidling. Make sure when you walk in the Imperial before you actually get in there are people all over asking if you want to go and see a show at night (gimmick to get you to listen to their ad sell on time shares) but they will give you a free pass into the car show otherwise it is like $8. 2 Ferrari cars are inside a 500 superfast and the one pictured below. Jim e-mail me if you want. I'm not a huge Hoover Dam fan but that is where we went in the 348. Once you get closer to the dam the traffic gets pretty bad so Red Rock might be a better drive. They both are about 45 min to an hour away in oppisite directions. Hoover Dam is to the east and Red Rock is to the west. Where are you looking to rent one from? I rented from Dream Car Rentals. The 348 ran great all day long without missing a beat. They do have some other nice cars there to rent (355, 68 Convertible Camaro super nice)

The Venetian is a very nice hotel. Make sure you take your wife there for a ride in the gondalas. If you are looking for a good lunch you can also try Jimmy Buffet's place Margaretaville (sp) go up to the 3rd floor and eat out on the deck and do a little people watching. Also if you have never been there take a trip through New York New York and eat a lunch there also. Inside they have a little town set-up with all the food vendors and in the make beleive street they have manhole covers that blow steam up through them to make it look like downtown New York. The only thing you won't see there is a Yellow TR with Carbon at the wheel.

I've stayed at many hotels in Vegas but recommend the Venetian. By the way, go to their sports book and enjoy free drinks, even though you aren't gambling. Also, their hotel is all suites. Fabulous rooms!

The autos in the Imperial Palace change often... A lot of them are for sale too in case you hit it big at the tables... They had a 1969 chevelle with 13k documented original miles on it and a couple of F-cars too; when I was there last summer they had a Fiat that just blew me away absolutely gorgeous design... There is a web site but it escapes me now... I want to say I saw it listed on hemmings.com... anyways the guy that owned that hotel had a HUGE collection of vehicles...

Aside from the car stuff the women working at the Bellagio are worth the trip just to watch them walk around... sigh

It just says dream car rental on the plate holder. It is either that or a fish plate holder :)
