I have a red 328 GTS which originally was an Oro Chiaro and still have a trace of its original gold colour at the louvre.
Since body panels are not stress memebers, replacing them with CF probably won't make too much difference to the weight of the car
Aluminum is light, but not as light as a thin screen of CF. But that's a whole 'nother story: the aluminum panels on most Fcars is thick enough to withstand door dings, shopping carts, etc. A light CF screen would shatter like glass. But the stock body panels are a drop in the bucket compared to the insulation and padding and other interior appointments. Surprisingly, my 328GTS weighs about as much as the 4-door EVO. But the EVO has very little insulation or interior fittings. It's one of the things that gives the EVO a "cheap" feel. But it does reduce weight. The RS model has even less insulation. (And the only major CF component on the EVO is the wing -- the major body panels are aluminum.)
