HI, I am 365 Boxer owner and possibly looking for a 456 for my father. He is about 75 y.o and a keen golfer. Somewhat conservative, but has always had a hinkering for an Fcar. Automatic and power steering would be mandatory, back seats useful for Grand Kids. Not too "look at me" styling, so probably not red. It would probably end up as a daily drive, definitely not a garage queen. 456 price is about right. So, golfers, will a set of clubs fit in the trunk? and what other cars do you consider to be alternatives? Regards
And you also have a back seat! A 456 is a nice addition to a 365 Boxer. I've got a 550 to go with mine (#17977), which I use to put my golf clubs in. It fits, but not comfortably. The driver just fits on the rear shelf. BTW, would you mind telling me which chassis number your Boxer is? I like to keep my registry updated. You can PM me if you want. Onno
SKL63, I know what you mean. This was a requirement for me as well. You can fit 2 "average" size golf bags w/ drivers in the boot w/ no problems. You can also fit 1 Tour Size bag. Hope this helps.
Hi, JazzyO, my Boxer is VIN#17915, originally sold to David Piper. RHD and living with me in Australia. Was Blue, repainted in Red some years ago. If it didn't have such a great paint job, I would revert it to Blue again. I have also just recieved a correct 365 front spoiler or dam. Here is a pic or 4, hopefully.... Greetings skl63 Great story and nice to hear you are from Oz. The countryside around #17915 looks to be very similar to Bowral? ... I know some history of 17915, I don't think Americans would be too happy with one of its prior owners In 1997, in Canberra, my wife and I did a very similar thing for her father. He was an ex WW2 RAAF Mosquito bomber pilot and had served in Australian Foreign affairs, until his retirement. For his 80th Birthday we shared the cost of a Lamborghini Espada, which comfortably fitted his golf clubs so he could go go and play golf at Federal GC and show off to his mates!!. He used to tell us he would only drive on the flat easy roads around Canberra, always at the speed limit. Once I was driving out of Canberra towards Cooma on the divided highway, doing about 110kph. in the daily driver, when I noticed a red car coming up behind at warp speed. As he passed me, probably doing well in excess of 160kph, there he was driving along with his pipe in his mouth and a bloody great grin ... of course he denied it when I spoke to him next He was a wonderful wonderful gentleman of the "old school". He had a sudden heart attack on September 1st 2005, aged 87. Lest We Forget Do it ... you will NEVER regret it. A 456 would be a great choice, we had a drive of several in the UK in June, and they are a superb under-rated car, with a great amount of room in the boot. I would suggest the 456M for several reasons, however not many in Oz. Personally I would favor a manual, fro your purposes an auto is a great way to go Regards Philip C
yes: can take a pick of two sets if desired, but haven't taken out the boom-box bass some nitt installed...then again, haven't golfed in over two years....drudge of life: simple answer = yes. even with the CD changer installed. rik
