Enjoy the CGT. It's a great track car - completely different experience to a Ferrari. I love my CS on the track, but the CGT opens up a whole new world.

what's a cgt? Carrera GT Porsche? If so, enjoy. It should not have the Porsche name on it though cos it is so much better than the rest of those POS's. Nice reliable, well made cars they are though. I see more of them than chevys. Real exotic. lol

    Hey, Leweyb!
Don't leave just because you bought the Carrera! You can bet that 99% of the folk here would love to hear about it. While this is mainly a Ferrari site, we are all afflicted by the same malaise.
    Don't go--your insight has value.

Do you plan to drive the CGT every day? I find this to be difficult with the car due to the low clearance. 430 is not a problem, you could put 5-10,000 miles a year on the 430 and it wouldn't be a big deal ... but that lowering of an extra inch or two (i really should go measure it) makes a huge difference on the CGT. Storage space and tight seats do not make it a long distance car either.

CGT is an amazing car .. aside from the heritage of the Ferrari, it is truly superior... the handling, acceleration, and overall thrills is multiples that of the 430. Just be careful, the 600+ hp in that light car can and will bite you.

From one great car to the next. I really like the Carrera GT. I have seen one on the road. The sound was nothing I had ever heard, made the hair on my neck stand out. It was so exciting.

Jeesh you kids are arrogant. LOL. I just like to have fun. In fact, I have owned two Porsches. Like i said, they are good reliable cars. Nothing exotic though. They have lost all their 'exotic' title since the inception of the boxster. It is sad actually. My point was simply that the CGT is Just an awesome car and comparatively to the rest of thier mark, it is in no way like the 'Porsche' we all know........ Ya all, need to relax and stop guessing at what's going on. "came into money and bought for wrong reasons" LOLOLOLOLOLLAHHAHWHHAHAHAHHAHHA.. Ahem.

Is this guy for real? Has anyone ever met him or has he conveniently missed EVERY event. He also claims to have had many F cars but states his wife doesn't like to drive "it".

If you are then you are! If you're not then you know what you are.

While both extraordinary cars, I am not understanding why so many people, many of which have posted on this site, have said the Porsche Carrera GT greatly outperforms the Ferrari 430 and that there is no comparison between the two.

When looking strictly at each cars performance data, they are very close in acceleration, top speed & handling. Gt 0-62 is 3.9 secs, F430 4.0 ; GT top speed 205, F430 196.

The performance of these two automobiles is extremely close and the Ferrari achieves this with far less horsepower and at nearly $200,000 less.

As far as comparing apples to apples, since the Carrera GT is Porsche's top of the line offering, shouldn't it be compared to the best that Ferrari has to offer, perhaps the Enzo?

While it is striclty my opinion, and each is entitled to their own, the feelings and emotions that a Ferrari stirs in one's soul cannot be obtained or duplicated by any other car currently available.
