Could use some advice here. Personally, with NO INSULT intended to any of you who use them, I think they look ridiculous ...That said, I think I need to copy Niptuck and get myself one of these fancy little things for when we go on these runs (including this Sunday). (The standard earpieces that come with most phones (much like ordinary in-ear headphones, including iPod) simply won't stay in my ear, no matter how much I jam them in (trust me, I've tried)).

Here are the criteria: SIMPLE, SIMPLE and... SIMPLE. Oh and small would be good too. I have the Razr (T-Mobile) and the ONLY time I will ever use this device is in the car. I really don't need one that will "talk" to my kitchen appliances or make my coffee in the morning ;-) It will also not permanently sit in my ear, rather, just be clipped on as necessary. I just need something straightforward that works with the phone, has a good speaker and mike, and which I can pick up for a decent price somewhere local (e.g. as nice as Euro/Asia products are, I'm not going to order the "one you can only get in Hong Kong" type thing.)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this!

    J.

I use the Jambra BT250 with my Treo 650.

Wraps around my ear and actually slightly inserts into my ear which help in hearing when in noisy environments.

Used the Motorola ones and didn't like em. However they do sync up well with the Razor which my wife uses as well.

I have the HS 820. Syncing, hearing, speaking is very good. It just does funky things that are more a shortfall of my Motorola 710.

and there's one big button & it's a little funky on how many times to press it to get it to do what you want.

the jabras are by far the best performing. I installed bluetooth through a custom module for my car. Mounted the mic in the dome lights and got sound coming through the speakers. Works amazingly well:)

Im with you Jawad. Personally, I dont trust those things. I will never put a device a mere inches from my brain that emits and receives cellular signals. I rarely us my cell phone and if i do its speaker phone and far the heck away from my head.

I hate having to carry it on a clip or in my pocket. In 15 years I expect to have a tumor of some type in my stomach or in my thigh.

Call me nuts. Laugh all you want. I dont trust it. All the "studies" they report about are usually funded and sponsered by the cell phone manufacturers. Yeah--Because that data is going to be accurate.

John, I agree the jury's DEFINITELY still out on the long term effect of these things. I don't necessarily assume they're harmful, but I'm not sure I'm convinced they're not, either... But I figure for the runs at least, it's good not to try to handle a Ferrari and a phone at the same time!

(And I definitely keep mine away from my... ahem... "boys", Clyde. ;-)

    See you Sunday!!

I like the two ways we have. Its not like we play smokey and bandit, but they definately come in handy.

How does that work? Do I need to go buy a pair of two ways? Or can i just buy "one" and somehow get on your frequency...? Wouldn't mind using a two-way but don't have one...
