Almost $11K off a brand new car. Doesn't get much better than this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brand-New-Midnight-Blue-06-911-Carrera-6-speed_W0QQitemZ4592976984QQcategoryZ10156QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That is one sharp 997! Damn I love that Midnight Blue...not a huge fan of the beige interior, but so be it. It's also not an "S"...
Werd. An S this is not, but the 19" rims help offset some of the difference. - Still $11K off a new MY06 is a great deal. I think the only "catch" is that you become the 2nd owner...
LOL! Famous last words for you Tom. Next thing we know, it's on a trailor bound for Kansas City! - Has the 328 arrived. Pics?
Why are prices so low already? Are the cars not really selling well? Anything wrong with this purticular example? I think the 997's and the 911's themselves are great cars and probably the best for the money.
hey vik and eric, the f-car is still amid its major service in north syracuse..... it was scheduled for completion last friday at "cantech automotive" but i keep getting daily updates with "suggestions" for new and expensive part replacement. at current rate, i will have a completely brand new engine in a 15 years old body car when she arrives. i am hopeful she will be picked up by the end of this week....can't wait to see her for the first time ps: greg, i swear i've nothing to do w/ its disappearance. i'm obssessive impulsive but running low on chips
The price is actually on mark. MSRP on the standard C2 is $69.xK (unless they increased it for MY06). The car would have to be titled to the winner of the charity auction and then onto the true buyer, so it would technically be a 2 owner car. Because the winner just wanted the money, they were willing to price it at an attractive discount - most dealers would give no more than $3 - $4k off of list. All of this seems to make sense to make. What DOESN'T make sense is why the auction was terminated. Not ended early, but terminated. Something doesn't seem right. BTW, you're absolutely right, 997's are a GREAT car. You can trash-talk P's about mass production, cheap interiors and loss of driver-to-road feel, but they are STILL the benchmark that most car manufacturers aspire to.
