Is what you are saying true? One would think with an open pipe after the bypass valve, there should be a gain. Where are you getting your info?

They have videos on their english website actually. I have the crossover pipe on my 355, which really just cleans the sound up a bit. The whole system sounds amazing though.

OK, I've seen two dynos for the exhaust, one on a Lambo and the other on a Porsche 996TT (the car I was considering putting one on). The primary design issue is that the piping size is smaller than similar products. A 2nd issue is the turbulence created at the valve. So the increased back pressure plus the turbulence led to decreased power in both the valve closed (a big decrease) AND the open (a slight decrease) positions.

The 996TT owner was pissed and made them take back the exhaust.

The other main manufacturer of the switching exhaust, 9FF, recognizes the small piping issue, so they oversized theirs to overcome the back pressure created by the turbulence. The power is good, sound is crappy and the fitment is poor.

Since I completed my research on these products, I found a company that will sell just the valve and actuator ($400 per set) so you can design your own exhaust. I'm thinking of going this route next year.

I actually may have to agree with Shark on this. I have been talking to a whole bunch of people here in Japan who race Ferrari's. I just got off the phone with Cats Speeds president and he gave me some good info. He actually said Kreissieg is not so great. He has an un-bias opinion because he sells 3 different types of exhausts.

    http://www.catsspeed.co.jp/test/FR_Parts/index2.html

He could have been like most shops and tried to sell me the most expensive but he took the time to talk with me and explain the most bang for your buck. His comments were,

If your looking for pure sound, go with Ito Racing

    http://www.catsspeed.co.jp/test/FR_Parts/cs_sound/ito/ito.html <--- Sound

He said this muffler will give you close to F1 sound without changing anything else. Stock cats, Exhaust manifolds, Y Pipe. If the sound is not good enough, then stick in the straight pipes and Y pipe.

For a tad bit more, I could go with the M.S. Racing with straight pipes but the sound would not be THAT much different.

    http://www.catsspeed.co.jp/test/FR_Parts/cs_sound/index.html <--- Sound

After going through all this, the Kreissieg is starting to look like a poor choice for me. Hear for yourself...

I am going in on Saturday and we will install all 3 variations to see which one I like. Will update you guys soon.

Hey Shark, good research. Thank you.

No problem bro, just want you to be happy with the choice you make. I tried to get a dyno from the factory and several distributors for months.....then I found out why they wouldn't provide one.

Goth, the company I was speaking about is quicktimeperformance.

    LOL!! :D Mine too!

Yeah I think since those exhausts have an "un-muffled" secondary, it is the 355 engine making the "F1" sound. So the sound is generated by the motor and those exhausts merely route the exhaust out the back of the car.

I would be more curious as to what they sound like when not on wide open throttle. Since that is where their muffler "design" would come into play.
