    Hi everyone with me just recently passing my test, i want to find some good roads to drive on, i love just driving out in the country and find myself doing it untill silly times in the morning lol. Some of my freinds have said go Wales, it does look good and i plan on going soon. I am located in the Stoke on Trent area, was just wondering what everyones favourite roads are. Thanks for your time

    Its likely that some of the best roads are near you eg Buxton to Macclesfield (mind the bikers) or in Wales as you say - one of the UK car magazines has only just done a huge survey of the best driving roads in England - try a 'search' on both this site and the net generally

    Not sure about scenaries, but if you want a narrow, challenging, country road for some relatively intense and focused fast driving, try the Keele Three Mile Lane behind Keele University in Newcastle-under-lyme, that's where I usually go and have a quick spin when i'm bored :)

    Hi mate :) i have driven just about nearly everywhere in the UK and can say with out a doubt that Wales as the best roads by far especially Hirwaun To Swansea via the Brecon Beacons a route that takes 2+ hours to complete on some of the best and quietest roads around, if ever you want to come down get in touch with me and i will meet you and take you there, and the best bit is that i drive it twice a week just for fun and there is not a single speed camera on the entire route.

    You have a point as there are a few mobile cameras around but i have been driving that road for a long time and have never seen one.

    thank you everyone, and grey boxer i found the roads on the way Buxton on Friday at about 4am so i didnt go far as my freind had fell asleep in my car lol. ( We had already been to Manchester to see a Ferrari showroom earlier on that night) I returned to the roads on saturday and realy enjoyed myself

    isle of man is an idea :) but i arent going to go just yet, i dont think it is worth going all that way in a corsa lol, when i have something faster i will go :)

    Mind if I take up that offer steve? I will be back early May and will be free after the 22nd for a couple of days, would love to see and drive some nice roads!

    Thanks for the offer, i would love to meet you and drive, however with me being at college at the moment i dont feel it pratial just yet with me not having as much as i would like and i would feel slightly embarrssed turning up in my little 1.0 Corsa :( lol
