Anybody have some good country road routes they like? I know that FCA members have gone on many around Houston, but I haven't been able to go yet. I've tried googlemaps, but it's really hard to tell from that. Thanks!

Yea, there's been several drives out towards Brenham.....

Look for Raccon Bend.......south of 290W and you go thru Burliegh by Blue Bonnet Farms and come out south of Belleville near Cat Springs...

I also like the roads in Nat'l Forest out by Point Blank, near Lake Livingston....you can pretend it's the North Loop of the 'Ring.....

A great atlas is Roads of Texas in Border's now, it's all the county road maps under one cover

My favorite route is FM 3090 to 149. It starts where 3090 hits hwy 6 just north of 105 an I follow it to 244, then hit 149 in Anderson and go through Richards and down to Montgomery. The best way to get to the "trailhead" is to go through Chappel Hill and Washington on the Brazos. I'll be doing this route at least once next week if anyone wants to get together.

Google maps "Richards,TX" for a good view of the above...

Sam and Rex, will either of you be at the FCA watch party in Saturday?

Maybe we should go for a driver before hand?

Sean - I am going to the Party.

I am up for a drive before. Looks like Saturday will be nice and sunny. :)
