Hi all, I must have read about a million posts here, but this my first one. GREAT BOARD!, by the way.... Anyways, just recently got my first F car after many Porsches and a couple NSX's. It's a 95 F355, and it sure is serious fun to boot around in. I was able to avoid hassles with valve guide or exhaust manifold issues mainly because of the info on this site. However, I seem to have inhereted a "sticky throttle"...apparently another common f355 problem,at least on early models. I have heard of many solutions (ie..new linkage cable, updated "quadrant" thingy, repack grease internally,etc....)yet there still doesnt seem to be a clear concensus on what will work. Any idea's??? Also, can anyone recommend a excellent garage/mechanic with experience in exotics/f cars in Toronto or near abouts? Id hate to think I can only count on FoO, although I was treated very well there...it seems like they are VERY busy, and Im sure, VERY expensive, lol. We certainly have alot of exotics here in Toronto, its nice to know there is a community of enthusiasts here to exchange ideas with..... Cheers,, Goldy
Goldy, You can PM me and I can give you the name and number of a great mechanic here on the board. You are correct FoO is very expensive in comparison, and this person has done a great deal of work on f355,360,boxers and many TRs including my own. PM me if you wish his name and number. Im surprised Vasco hasn't read your mail yet.
Gimme a second will you? LOL Hey you can't blame me for trying to help out fellow enthusiasts man ;-) I love to help. Anyways, Mr. Goldy your first and best bet would be to PM Big Red and also Tom who is a mechanic and also frequents this board (Tom if you read this please answer my email, I need to get a quote on that car!). I also know of a couple others if you need any other help just PM/email me. Good luck. Vasco.R
V, I am very disappointed at your response time....I thought for sure you would beat anyone to the punch. Glad for the first time I beat you out on a thread..lol.... Anyway, hope your well pal? Must meet up soon. Cheers.
I would also recommend Rock's Auto in Toronto. PM me and I'll give you his number. Excellent service and advice. Reasonable prices too.
Hey T, where you been at ??? Talked to Marco about doing a run to see you, if the weather permits, come to the house.
Yes, I have yet to meet this Mr.Rock. A good colleague of mine sells him ALOT of F-parts so he must do some good business. I heard he has some nice cars there for service all the time. Vasco.R
..............oh yeah and ummm. Tom, in case we haven't mentionned it yet........Can you friggen get your own shop for crying out loud!?!
LOL!! I'm working on it!! I have just been swamped the last couple months. I don't have enough time to pee let alone put together a business plan!. Like I said in my e-mail I have six Ferrrais in the shop right now and one Dino. I just got a phone call about 10 minutes ago and I now have a 7th coming down for an emergency saftey and emissions (car must be licenced by the end of the week or the buyer will walk...) Funny thing..I have more Ferrari's at the shop then there was at the show on saturday!!
Hey Big Red..how are things? Your welcome anytime at the shop. I will make the trip out to see you soon I hope. My Ferrari just blew a coolant hose last night...damn it..a brand new hose,,gates green strip and everything went "POP!" so I just came it form removing it. Now I have to see if they will warrenty the $70 4 foot length of hose I bought. What a piss off!! I hope the rest are o.k.
Sorry to hear Tom, I'll call you next week, maybe we come up. 7 fcars....damn you a busy man !! See you soon.
