This car was discussed at length here last week. Same story as always, buy the condition and not the mileage.

nice, he talks to me for over a week about the car, and we had a deal pending.

now he sticks it on ebay, with not a word to me about our pending deal?

    ?????

    whatever.

You know... just once I would like to see a 308 pop up within 2 hours of me for $17,000...

Sigh. I need more garage space... and time...

The only good fixer-upper is one that someone else has already completed, or a car that you got for free. Otherwise, 9 out of 10 times, you'll be upside down by the time it's completed and you add up ALL the bills.

8000 miles my BUTT. It's got to be 108000 miles. How could an 8000 mile
car get rust and other issues like this? Sitting outside in a vacant lot? Look
at the wear on the outside edge of the drivers seat - what, he SAT IN IT for all these years and didn't drive
it? Just sat in it, pushing the gas pedal to wear the paint off the metal? How about
the rust and missing screen under the engine bonnet? The rust on the seams of the
radiator around the cap, the filthy engine bay... the pulley rust and missing AC belt.... My 67k '86
328 has less wear on it than this sad piece of work.

    Good grief.

I dont have any interest in this car, I see the car sold to Brazil now.. but I think some of you guys are very negative on the car/seller, there ara a lot of signs that could be in favor for the cars mileage.
Maybe learn a little about what bad storage and time will do to a good car?

To be gentle I will write it off to lack of knowledge, IMO there are many signs the car _could_ be low mileage / bad storage..

    - completeness of spare kit/tool kit/pouch
    - front valance and underside, more or less sratchless, even so the ac radiator
    - seats look firm to me, where is the wear?
    - it is still blue after all these years...
    - pedals rubbers are not much worn, the gas pedal is black/painted black (not metal as someone indicated)
    - screw and buffer that stop the gas pedal..
    - ....

At the "buy it now" it was a nice price for a DIY type of buyer, I almost wanted to click the button yesterday.. :)

It's too bad about the rust and general lack of care the car has received. Nice color. Someone will fix her up good as new.
