Good italian restaurants in down town ?

Ate there many times when working at the CBOT. Great place and unique atmosphere as one room is a former train wagon.

 

If you call a a day or two ahead, they just may prepare some Carpaccio for you special. Order at least 2 servings. It may switch you, from your Tartar desires. Sonny and Val are great people and know how to "run the store."

 

I know and like Carpaccio. But frankly nothing beats Tartare.

 

I meant Sonny's Carpaccio, which you probably haven't tried.

About the closing time: You clearly are a South American. I remember going for dinner in Buenos Aires at 8pm and the waiters were looking funny at me wondering what I wanted in the empty restaurant. Most people arrived around 10pm when I was paying my bill.

PS: Speaking of South America. You realize there are some good Brazilian and Argentinian places in town?

Fantastic little place. It is a BYOB and relatively small so make a reservation or time your dinner outside of the Musicbox hours. You have to order the grill: You'll get the proverbial Argentinian meat overdose with one french fry on the side. Some of the sauce they give you with the meat is to die for.

There is a parking lot across the street.

I love the murals. They look like drawings straight out of my "Spanish for Beginners" school book.

 

She is worth it.

 

How about Gene and Georgetti's Italian Steak House, always a favorite of mine.
