    Hi,

    I was wondering if any of you diecast afficionados know of stores that sell model cars in houston?

    I know of one at Westhiemer and Gessner but they seem to have reduced their die casts stocks over the last couple months...

    You are aware of the SPEED promo at Autozone, I posted on another thread?

    Big Lots sometimes will have them, on close out.

    Ferrari of Houston has some in Parts Dept.

    KayBee Toys, hit or miss for Fcars. Toy R Us for boring stuff.....

    Man, no wonder I mostly mail order now! LOL!
    Sorry to hear about Planes, Trains, though....:(

    Oh, I did forget one...Traders Village has several stores within it that have a good selection...Off Hwy 290 on Eldridge......

    Satisfying evening thanks to all of you .... I went to M&M and picked up
    - Hot Wheels Ferrari Enzo
    - Maisto Lamborghini Murcielago
    - Ford GT

    I was so tempted to pick up the scalatrix cars - saw a new Ferrari 512S. Too bad I have no space for it in my humble apartment. One of these days for sure ....

    Separately, I also placed an order with www.ferraristore.com for a 60s 1:18 set consisting of a) Ferrari 250 GTO b) Ferrari 250 LM and c) Ferrari Daytona. It was pretty reasonable - 56 EUR for all three ... though shipping was a b***h - 70 EUR. But hey, its damned sight cheaper than the real thing....

    I found M & M completely by mistake when I got lost when I first moved to Houston. It's amazing what you can find in there. Those 60's packs that you just ordered, some of them could be found at the Mattel warehouse store way cheap. The only thing is the inventory can vary from day to day. Example: Two weeks ago the F1399 Schumy 1/18th was on sale for $7.99. WOW!!

    Will, if you ever see a 60's pack of 1/18's at Mattel, get me one! That Shumi car you bought me is still in the trunk, I don't know where to put it. :(

    I get lots of mine at Target. In the past month or so, I've purschased a yellow Enzo, 360 CS, 612, 360 spider, and also passed on a few others. Sam's also carries Maisto seasonally, and should begin stocking them hopefully by September. They typically have the entire Maisto line for $9.99.

    Not quite OT, but....
    Where is the Mattell store in H-town? I've heard talk of it but don't know where it is. My usual stops whem I visit are FoH, M&M, Dave & Busters, Galleria etc, so I'm pretty familiar with the southern half of the loop inside and out.

    The Mattel store is up near Ft. Worth. I have been to almost every Hobby shop n H-Town, and I haven't seen any F Cars as of to date. Target and or Walmart is your best bet. Toys R Us, and all the others, you are wasting your time. Big Lots had a selection a while back, but since then the only model Fcars I have seen are the Black, Red and Yellow 550 Barchetta at the Big Lots in Spring,Texas past the Louetta exit.

    The ecstasy first ...

    Went to Ferrari of Houston to have a look-see and picked up three Hot Wheels out from them

    Yellow 550 Barchetta
    360 CS
    166 MM (sweet old car)

    The agony ... as expected my high credit card bill this month.

    I feel I am heading down a path of no return....

    Saw a sweet old Ferrari 275 GTB - looked like a long nose to me but I am not sure... I am talking about a real car here. It supposed by owned by the owner of FoH.

    There were 2 F40s and a 288 GTO being serviced there.

    True! True! ... except for the garage. I have little Audi S4 now. No F car yet. One of these days (... years may be more accurate ;-) )
