Hi, I'm looking to get either the 2531.80 or the 2551.80 (the james bond watch, large or medium dial, respectively) and I'd like to know whether you guys can recommend any places to get them! I am currently in Boston, but would not mind getting this online if it is a reputable dealer!

    THANKS!

I know you said you are currently in Boston, but your little profile said home is Waterloo, Ontario. I've been looking into watches myself lately, Omega included, and when you factor in the $CDN/$US exchange, our prices here in the Great White North are not bad.

You may wish to try Ashley in Hamilton or European Jewellery in Toronto - they have deals with Omega and are able to sell for quite a bit less than MSRP. PM me if you would like contact info.

    Best o' luck.

I can usually get them (and other watches) wholesale as long as they are available. I have done so for several other F-chat members. PM me if interested.

I looked up shops on their website, went to a couple and haggled with them. The best place I found was in the mall of all places, place called Orologio. When all was said in done, got the guy down to like $100 higher than what they were going for online. Find an authorized store with an older guy as the salesman and pay in cash.

Keep an eye out online, the watch is supposed to come with 4 or 5 warranty cards in case you have to make a claim. The cards are printed and hologrammed with the (authorized) store's name on them already, and Omega doesn't sell online to the best of my knowledge. Just a heads up.

^^^^Edit, looks like I need to learn to type faster.

What I cannot understand is people paying for an Omega, Blancpain or Rado watch when they are owned by Swatch Group. It’s like buying a Ferrari if someone like Fiat owned them …………..ooops, never mind.

Omega does not support Internet sales - they're techically gray market watches, and many Omegas sold over the Net have their serial numbers removed. I got this info from:

    http://www.chronocentric.com/omega/consumeralert.shtml#salespeople

I bought my 007 Seamaster at Bailey Banks & Biddle, and a short talk with the manager got them to knock 18% off list. Of course, I wasn't a F-Chat member at the time. If I could do it over again, I'd definitely consult the folks on here first.

I got mine at an Omega store in Virginia. They were an authorized dealer. Just check out Omegawatchs.com for a store locatot. I love my Omega ...great quality and never had one problem with it.

An authorized dealer should still give a 25% to 30% discount. In the last year I've bought 3 high end watches, including a gold Rolex, and the worst discount I got was about 26%. If the dealer you're talking to won't make the deal, call another. I got 30% off the Rolex, and now hear that it's unheard of. Shop around.

25%-30% off is almost the norm discount on almost every watch. That being said, you can't receive something unless you ask. Sometimes you got to press a little with the watch guy. They might start you of with 10%-15% off only and you might think that, that is all you can get but, if you ask, you will be surprise how easily you can get the norm discount. If that doesn't work, there are thousands of other watch dealers that will give it up, willingly.

It's actually WAY better looking in person! It's a HUGE watch, and it really has a commanding look to it. I guess that's what I really like about it. The size is great and I like the weight of it as well. It's a big heavy watch! I must say....it looks good on me = )

The Jeweler wanted $3295, but I've already found it all over for much cheaper. Seems like $2600-$2800 is a good number for it.
