For fun or food, let me know what your recommendation. Lately I have only going to places (restaurants, clubs, bars, etc) I already been before.

Any type of restaurant information is appreciated, and please indicate a name of Establishment, approx location, what food/service, your comment.

    For ex.,

Old Warsaw @ Cedar Spring & Maple in Dallas, French food mainly, Elegant place.

Lizard Lounge @ Swiss & Crowdus in Dallas, Different type of musics depending on a day & inexpensive.

The Lodge @ NW & Lunar in Dallas, Adult Entertainment, costly but Dallas's finest.

DFW Airport Observatory @ Walnut (in airport hanger area, but not inside airport), you can watch planes takes off, and run way lights up during a night. Think yourself when & who to go there!

I usually like to take dates out to Shops at Legacy on Friday & Saturday nights. Its a great place to catch a flick at the Angelica Theatre, go around the corner to Mi Cocina for dinner & take a stroll towards Coldstone Ice Cream shop and walk around the pond area in front of the hotel.

Here's a few suggestions "off the beaten path".

Rouge @ Lovers/Inwood in Dallas, Upscale and elegant Authentic Spanish Tapas

Saffron House @ Tollroad/Beltline (in the same shopping center at Mercy Wine Bar), upscale Indian Food

Tutto @ McKinney Ave in Dallas, 4 star eclectic Italian (we did a Fine Dining there this time last year)

The Kitchen Dog Theater @ Mckinney in Dallas, great small theater, check paper for listings

The Pocket Sandwich Theater @ Mockingbird/75, small theater, lots of fun for kid as well as they also serve pizza sandwiches, pub food and encourage throwing popcorn at the actors on stage when appropriate.

Fuse @the Dallas Power and Light bldg on Commerce in downtown Dallas, TexAsian cuisine, super swanky rooftop lounge and bar. Incredible city views.

Cafe San Miguel - Henderson 1 1/2 miles east of 75 at McMillan. Mexico City style mexican with a lot of fish dishes.

Ojeda's mexican on Maple south of Elliott's hardware. Cheese and onion enchiladas and a puffed taco - little bit of heaven. Same recipes as 30 years ago.

Metro diner in Preston Center is a step back to the 50's. Only breakfast and lunch, but worth a visit.

Keller's drive in on Northwest Highway east of Abrams. Car hope and always some fun cars and bikes to look at. Gets big on weekend nights. Somebody will probably ask you to race- don't. Lots of ringer cars that don't look like much, but are 11 second quarter mile machines.

The Mecca- Harry Hines north of Loop 12/ Norwest Highway. Another breakfast/ lunch spot, but a longtime Dallas dive.

I agree. Very comfortable to walk around to the various places and security is excellent. Mi Cocina, Flying Saucer, 8.0, Billy Miner's and the clubs are all good.
Lots of other places to see there also.

And, parking is free after 6pm and on weekends..........

I'll second that! We'd rather go to Fort Worth any day over Dallas and we used to live in far North Dallas.

Thank Mike, SR, Phil for your input. I'll try them all w/in few months!

Jim, I like BK better than McDo...

Dave, I never compared Hooters but the one in Lewisville is pretty good, too. I think one of their girl won Miss Hooter in 2004 (I may be wrong!)

Will, James, Carol, then input your favorite spot for me, so I can check them out. I don't really trust those city guides (they've got to make money some where), as I heard stories from restaurant & club owners before.

I have witnessed the wealth of information at this site, restaurant & club info for each city by local f-chatters can be helpful, and city guides by F-chatters can be more reliable than others.

Friday and Saturday evenings 8.0 has live entertainment on their quarter block patio under the shade trees. Very relaxing and you see a lot of "people". Mi Cocina is just down the street about a block and it is a nice ecclectric Tex-Mex restaurant. Razoos is a block west and is always a good gathering spot. Billy Miners is another block west from there and is very rustic with a large bar and lots of TV's. Riata restaurant is just directly across the street from Billy Miners and has a cool rooftop restaruant and club. City Streets, a multi club arrangement, across from Bass Hall always has a lot of crowds on the weekends but I have not been inside myself.

The Flying Saucer is a place you can go for live music and find almost any beer in the world. They have a HUGE selection.

Too many places to mention them all. Just go, walk around until you see something you think looks interesting and grab a seat. Everything is within an 8 city block area and there is plenty of parking and security.

    Thanks, James, for Ft.Worth lead.

Went to Korean places last night, and it was pretty good.

Seoul Garden @ 35 & Royal (SE side). Small place & hard to find as it is located in the small plaza. (Wendy's - I think - is located across the street)
They have stone pot rice for extra $5, which is rare.

Mac / Karaoke @ Royal. Cross the street from Seoul Garden & walking distance. This place is very hard to find as it is located 50 yards inside what looks like warehouse area. $30/hour for room charge, but good updated selection of songs.

    Rider's Club / Korean Club @ 35 & Royal NW side.

Yoshi, for some reason I can't see most of us going to any of those places! :) Except maybe Rob going for Karaoke.

Don't knock it til you try it :)...Garret and I have eaten at Seoul Garden about a dozen times - I haven't tried the stone pot rice but the Korean BBQ is really good (there is a gas grill in the middle of your table so you can cook it yourself). I give it a second thumbs up if you have a taste for ethnic food.

I always see non-asians at Korean or Vietnam food restaurant, so I figured you guys may be interested.

I like variety in my choice.

    Will,
as long as you feel good, you can sing Karaoke. It's not for others to listen, but let yourself feel good by singing out loud w/ back chorus & melody. I don't do Karaoke in public space, but only in a private room w/ people I know. YES, I am shy
