What browser are you using? Firefox seems to have a pretty effective pop up blocker.

Use Firefox, awsome pop-up blocker and then you can get an extension called adblock, where you can surf the net with no ads on websites.

I use the Google tool bar. You can download it for free from Google and it has a built in pop-up blocker.

For IE make sure you have Service Pack 2 for Windows, they pop up blocker is very effective.

As for Firefox, yes it prevents popups, but if your machine has spyware on it already, this is merly a bandaid fix and you willl still suffer the negative effects from that spywaye.

Unfortunately, I spend a bit too much time cleaning up the crap. Does it pay? It depends, yes and no. Friends/family/Carbon... not really. Do you expect me to charge 100 bucks and be an a$$? According to one member on Fchat who has a site that deploys the junk, I should be. Well, ethically, I'd rather not. He can go to the bank while ripping off other people's info and turning those systems into drones.

It could do what Explorer does and more. I have Explorer on my computer as well, sometimes things don't work on Firefox so i just go and try it with Explorer (rarely happends).

Make sure to use the tabs as well, they are awesome!

I hate when people does that :( I hate spy and malware.... more should be done to stop it.
I do what i can to inform about it to people who don't know.
I know several people who bought their first pc... and after ½ a year they are sorry they bought it, because it's destroyed with virus, spy etc :( And many of them don't know they could have stopped much of it !!
