go for it if you can afford to lose $1500 and you find it is in too bad of a shape. you could also part it out at worst.

These coupes were dogs when they were brand new. And trust me on this: the rust will be a whole lot worse than it appears. Save yourself the hassle.

Interior looks decent. Run away though. What it would cost on the bodywork, and paint alone could buy you a pristine GTV/6.

I owned a 79 Alfetta and the happiest days of my life were the day I bought it and the day it was totaled. The one major plus this car had was handling for its era. I chased down a Boss Mustang on a twisting road until he gave up. Got $20 out of him that night. He could walk away from me on the straights, but early '70s mustangs didn't do so well in the curves and the Alfa loved the twists. However, the car was a maintenance NIGHTMARE! This car has been abused and the rust shown is only the tip of the iceberg. IMO, it's a parts car...ONLY! $1500 of worn out parts. The GTV/6 is a better car as long as you change the timing belt and pulleys frequently and you will still be under it every weekend trying to keep it running. I've owned 3 Alfa's, but this model is the one I would never ever buy again. Lesson was leaned on the 2nd happiest day of my life.
