Hey, I was trying to find some good resturants in Houston. I was trying to find ones that not everyone knows about. I am used to going to places like Houston's, Logan's Road House, Olive Garden, etc. I am sure there are some really good resturants that not everyone knows about. Thanks
One thing that Houston has is great resturants. If you can narrow it down some, this would help. Dale
My Top 3 List: 1. Red Onion 2. Taste of Texas 3. Las Almedas Remember, high prices doesn't always equal good food; perfect example, Old San Francisco steak house. Highly overrated IMHO. I would've added BW3's, but their only good for their wings.
theres an awesome place either on west alabama, or westheimer... i know its down the street that the borders on kirby is on... lol not much help but i think its an old gas station and you order at the front, then they bring you the food... i know its east from the borders/central market... anyone know what im talking about??
Berryhill, really, really good. Others: Pesche, Taste Of Texas, McCormick&Schmick's, Tony's/Anthonys/Vallones, Grotto I can go on for ever...
berryhill! thats it.... thats the only place we eat when we go, extreamly good, one must go there....
Berryhill-home of my fav $5 chimichanga What part of Houston do you wish to dine? The Heritage Club in Downtown has a filet that has to be one of the best in the city.
The atmosphere at Berryhill is cool because even if you dont know anybody there, you can join in a convo, have a good meal and get drunk at the same time.
Thanks for all your imput!! The location doesn't really matter to me. I have driven out to the Brenham Regional Airport to have their hamburgers. I am always up to trying new things, so the type of food also doesn't matter. If you have never been out there, you should some time. They have people fly in from all other states with their personal jets just to eat the hamburgers! It is set up like an old 50's dinner, and the waitresses all wear poole skirts. FUn place. Another place that I just remembered is new is off of N Post Oak and Westimer. It used to be a carpet showroom, and now it is an amazing resturant inside. I think it opened just before New Years. Thanks again for all your help guys.
Fogo De Chao is an excellent suggestion...Since you don't mind venturing a ways try Kirby's and Perry's in the Woodlands, only about 20 miles north. Ichibon in Kemah is a great Japanese sushi/steakhouse as well. And we also have Benihana's and other chain restuarants around the area....
Carrabas, Flemings, Smith and Wollensky, Arco Dorro, Garsons (Persian food...awesome stuff). Fogo de Chao is awesome too, but you will leave feeling like crap after stuffing yourself. La Griglia, Pappasitos, Uptown Sushi....Those are pretty much the places I frequent...all are very good
Jax Grill on Sheperd....rainbow trout, live Zydeco on Friday night. Cavatore's on Ella...Italian and they have some old Ferrari signs and flags!
Some good suggestions in this thread. If you guys ever find yourself in Clear Lake I highly recommend Frenchies for Italian food. It's at the corner of Nasa Road 1 and El Camino.
Does anyone know the relatively new resturant off of Westimer across from Starbucks and the Container Store? I can't think of the name of it for the life of me, but it's atmospere inside is very romantic. I think it opened right before New Years.
The only place I've been in Houston (that wasn't a chain that I've been to in Dallas) that was excellent is called Shade. I can't remember the name of the neighborhood it's in, but it's on West 19th Street. I think it was one of Esquire's top restaurants recently.
-Taste of Texas, as mentioned earlier...great place www.tasteoftexas.com -Ciro's, italian place was at I10 & Campbell but they are moving over by Memorial City Mall www.ciros.com -Grand Lux in galleria area is one of my favorites. Spin off of the Cheesecake factory, but even better IMO. www.grandluxcafe.com -Lupe Tortilla, place is a madhouse on the weekends, but probably the best fajitas in town. www.lupetortilla.com/contact.htm Both great suggestions I go to Jax pretty often.
Floyd's Seafood on 1960 near Champions Estates. Semi close to 1960 and 249. Has a South Louisiana feel to it (kinda New Orleans, kinda Baton Rouge). seafood is good and so are the steaks.
Grotto, La Griglia, Vic and Anthony's. (Yes, my wife works for Landry's corporate--but these are the high-quality restaurants!)
El Pollo Loco off of Bissonnet near 59. I guess you call it the In & Out Burger of fried chicken places.
