Hey guys - I'm new to Chicago, just moved up from Texas. Decided to keep the 355 despite living in a highrise downtown - not excited about the parking situation. To make a long-story short, I tried to squeeze in beside my DD to prevent doordings from strangers and totally backfired - got a little pole scrape on the intake groove (feeling very clumsy at the moment). So anyway, who do you guys trust to do bodywork on your cars in the area? While we're at it, I'll save the post and ask for a good independent mechanic as well. Really loved my guy in Houston and nervous about finding another one. Any chance there's a great shop like Bradan that can do both? Thanks for the responses.
On a similar note, can anyone offer up a recommendation for a good tire/rim shop? It's about time I get my challenge rims repaired (curb rash + prior damage that was repaired improperly), TPMS sensors replaced (some batteries are dead) and a new set of tires (getting to the wear bars). I figure it makes most sense to get it all done at once, but maybe I get the rims fixed at one place and new tires/sensors at another.
Not to turn this into an ad for Continental, but whoever does their wheel repair and refinishing is phenomenal and reasonably priced. I know this from WAY too much experience.
I believe Custom Cars does all of their wheel refinishing!! Not an add. Just a conversation with Pete the other day while my car was being fixed!
I have had some work, including wheels, done by Custom Cars and was very happy. For interior Ogden Top and Trim is the place.
European auto in Chicago... Ask for Steve or Cick great guys with many years of experience they did the PPI on my 430 when I purchased it this May... They are very knowledgeable and meticulous... Google them and check out their websites as to the cars that they have restored... Awsome!!!
