Good way to remove fried airbox mounts?

    Gang,

    As you can see from these pics, my airbox mounts are toast. I've got a fresh new set from Ricambi but these little b***rds are super hard to remove. They require a 13mm socket.

    I tried all the usual hardware removal tricks -- plenty of penetrating oil and elbow grease - but they just won't budge. What makes matters worse is they are screwed onto these posts that bend very easily so its very hard to get any leverage on removing them without bending the arms of the mounting bracket.

    Thoughts? Thanks all.

    I guess I was lucky. I just grabbed mine on the bottom piece with some channel locks and popped free and spun out prett easy. Maybe try grabbing the mounting tab with some vice grips for backup and some channel locks on the grommet.

    What you're putting a 13mm socket on is not a nut. It's welded to the bracket. You must use channellocks or visegrips and grip the toasted part itself.
