    I'm not sure where to put this. Indeed, I'm not sure where to put anything anymore. However, after two years on F-Chat, it's time for a break.

    Please don't intrepret this as a knock against Rob or the rest of you. I'm just embarrassed that I have so many posts. Geeze, talk about going overboard.

    And, to tell the truth, I am a little burned out on the whole thing. Chatting here is just not as much fun as it used to be. Plus, this whole focus on Ferraris is getting to be a bit much. For example, I went for a ride in Pantera the other day. For the bucks, these cars are hard to beat. Please don't misunderstand, I still have the passion for the cars. I count driving a Maranello and a Stradale as two of the many high points that I have had in my life.

    But, it is time to to guit chatting about Ferraris and whatnot and send more time actually doing. What I'm not sure. But Summer is here and the birds are singing. I can hear the open road calling.

    However, I really do value the friendships that I have made here. If any of you would like to stay in touch feel free to email me at dale at drtax dom com. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just going to cut this umbilical cord that I have between me and this computer. I know that you young bucks can't conceive of a world without the Internet; but, trust me, there is one out there.

    Dale, I understand the all or nothing attitude, but as Montaigne said "Moderation in everything ... including moderation." Take your sabbatical, restore your balance, then check in from time to time. You don't have to post daily (or even weekly) to be part of the community.

    It doesn't hurt to change it up once in a while and yes I know what life is like without the internet, or a computer for that matter.

    I used to be a voracious reader of books until I found this ever expanding universe of information called the internet. I miss my books but it's hard to trade for the ease of learning what I want when I want, quickly.

    A few road trips thrown in wouldn't be bad idea about now.

    What the hell, no fair, can I have a little break too!?! :D Damn, I won't get a break from it until I die, then maybe my unlucky kid will be stuck with it a lifetime too. ;)

    I went through a little computer addiction of my own back in 1994 while I was in college. The real geeks will know what I'm talking about, but I loved to M.U.D.. Holy cow, I did it night and day for 6-12 months. Even when not on a computer I would read pages and pages of documentation. I really enjoyed it, but it took over my life. Luckily I was in college, getting paid by the computer center anyway to play, and didn't impact much else except less partying. You are really a geek if you know the following... My first character was 13 days old before I switched to another one that went to about 10 days. I just basically quit cold turkey. Maybe that's why I don't dare get involved with those new graphical multiplayer RP games. I've heard they are even more addictive than the old text based M.U.D.'s I did.

    Dale, will miss you online. I still have your number. I still have your email. I will also see you at several of the events. Life is about balance for me. 50% Ferrari and 50% everything else. :)

    Wow, you just reminded me that I lost most of 1995 to a little game called TradeWars. What's worse is that I worked with one of the guys that I played against, and we'd actually run home on our breaks to pull sneak attacks on each other. I can't believe I just told you guys that.

    Anyways Dale, I totally get the break idea but don't be a stranger.

    I really enjoy FCHAT. I've made many friends across the world. I've learned many things. I've had visitors from Europe. Tomorrow Wayne is coming for the weekend. A week from monday Boudewijn is coming to run the Targa with me.
    There is a lot of Passion here and I really appreciate all of it. Thanks Rob for a wonderfull site.

    You know what they say don't you? Absence makes the heart grow fonder! Enjoy your break. I've come to just about the same realization lately. Just too many things going on to keep spending this much time here. I love it too but have decided to "cut back some" myself.
