Regardless of what we all think of Kimi, whether he's the fastest, the laziest, the coolest, or lacked motivation, I think he deserve a thread. He brought us the WDC in 2007, and also helped the 2007 as well as the 2008 WCC.

Whatever happens, i wish him the best in his future, and i really hope to see him in a Mclaren next year, to teach Lewis a thing or two :D and also in terms of spicing up the sport. Think about it, Massa-Alonso, Kimster-Hamilton, etc etc ...

Thanks a lot Kimi, and all the best in life!

I'm with ya on that one. I don't know if I'll miss him, but I do appreciate his title victory in 2007.

I think we are more likely to see Kimi in a rally car than an F1 car....

My best wishes to Kimi, as Ferrari's last WDC.

To his future endeavors and time marches on.

He's still my favorite active driver and will be for as long as continues to race (unless MS comes back of course). Ferrari will regret their decision once kimi gets behind the mclaren. I hope he wins at least one more WDC before he calls it quits.

    Kimi followed a legend.

MS brought a wide-ranging skill set and leadership skills that make him one of the all-time greats. Kimi is an incredible driver, but you have to admit he had a TOUGH act to follow (especially with that same MS that won 7-WDC's coaching Massa the entire time)...

Thank God the farce is over. Kimi will be the forgotten Ferrari WDC. Of course, to him that's all irrelevant as he has absolutely maximized his earnings from F1, and for that I congratulate him 100%.

It gonna be crunchtime for alonso though next year, I really can't understand why he is soo highly rated, he got blewed away at mclaren by a rookie and he has not done anything worth during 2009. He had some luck in 2008 and won one (when the title contenders crashed out) and got one 1 by cheating.

I think he will have a very hard time at Ferrari, he is no MS.

I do hope Kimi drives for McLaren so we can see the Kimi of old again, Kimi was a little lame this year but as soon as Massa was gone (very political person together with MS) he was best in class with a car that clearly that didn't deserve his drive, just look at what Fisichella did with it and he almost won a GP with his old car (SPA that Kimi won when Badoer came last).

I guess he just needs some motivation.

    :)

I think everything is true - he's the fastest, the laziest, the coolest, and lacks motivation ;) As said here: I appreciate his 2007 title, but I'm looking forward to seeing Massa and Alonso.

I think ferrari will go political again, Massa will never give Alonso way and Alonso is as he is, it will probably fail...
It's very hard to have 2 super egos in the same team (it never worked before in F1). With Kimi it works just he probably thinks if the team pays me 25m euros to come second fine, why should I care. Now he even gets the same amout to do nothing = best deal ever!

I don't think Kimi really cares. If F1 will give him a whole lot of money, he'll stay; otherwise, he's off to play in the mud. ;)

He's won one WDC. He knows he's not going to win seven.
What else does he have to stick around for, other than the money?

Once it becomes a job, rather than a passion, it's time to move on.
    Unless it's a job that pays a $**tload of money. ;)
    (Remember "Spaceballs"? :p)

What seems to bother a lot of people about Kimi is his apparent attitude of disinterest. But I find it refreshing that a top driver can maintain a healthy perspective in today's F1. Say what you will about him but the man knows how to have fun.
Compared to many of the dour, win at any cost, drivers around today Kimi knows that he's in the prime of his life and on top of the world and doesn't hesitate in enjoying it.
Even in what is a beast of a car this year he's done amazingly well, being outscored by Hamilton by just a single point.
    Thanks Kimi, godspeed.

Never liked him. We should have replaced MS with Alonso. I'm really looking forward to next year!

That said, goodbye and good luck Kimi. You gave some great quotes. I hope he goes to McLaren rather than leaves F1.

Hear, hear!. I was always happy to see that after all the near misses at McLaren, Kimi realised his dream at Ferrari in his first year. It just seemed right somehow.

+1 I never cared for Kimi sounding like a robot on downers in interviews. Alonso will work hard on getting the car developed into a world beating dominate car.

plus it helps put people off interviewing him so they go and bother other drivers instead, leaving him alone (quite a clever plan when you think about it).
