It's an AMAZING experience! I went a few years ago and photos / videos don't even come close to showing how incredible the event and estate property are in person! I was in awe of the caliber of cars, the drivers and just how many things there are to do and see there.

    My advice

    - Get there as early as possible in the morning (right at opening) and head straight to the paddocks (specifically cathedral paddock which is where the best of the vintage Ferrari, Bugatti, Mercedes, etc are kept). There aren't many people around at that time and it was my favourite time of day - there's nothing like seeing a 250 GTO glistening in the morning dew!

    - If possible, spend a day before or after the event in the city of Chichester. It's a very picturesque area of English countryside.

    - Bring cash - there are tons of great vendors with unique memorabilia.

    - There are far more things to see and do than you will have time for over the 3 days, so choose carefully. I regret missing the rally stage.

    - Plan a second trip back for the Goodwood Revival (I haven't been but hoping to make it in the next few years).

    Have an amazing trip!!

Keith. . Advice from Mike is spot on. I lived only 2 miles from Goodwood, and saw the growth of the event from day one. . Biggest problem now is traffic/access to the site, and from that, volumes of people. Ticketing is important..Parking/grandstands/hospitality.etc. and after that where you are staying locally. I am hoping that 'Jack the Lad' will read this thread,as he knows how it all works from your side of the pond......For me ? ..The revival is something else..so you will have to save up and make another visit !

Thanks. I plan to take McLaren up on their ticket and hospitality packages for access.

Was there last year. Easy to take train from london for day trip. Plenty of good food to eat. Bring something to sit on. Prepare for heavy crowds and lots standing. We had nice weather but its england in the fall. Go to car park to see great stuff. Lots of threads on topic. DRESS IN COSTUME!

Thought you were talking Revival, which ALSO sounds great. I want to figure out how to drive there and Monterey and the Redman at Road America
