Goodwood has confirmed there will be an all-Jaguar E-type race at next year's Revival meeting on September 16-18 – wonder if that will deplete the RAC TT Celebration grid? If so, it'll be the Ferrari versus Shelby wars.

Not sure if you Jag lovers have seen this, Classic Car Magazine have the gen on this.

Maybe something to come over for?

There is only one E-type i want to see race again and that is the John Lewis raced Roger Mac car.
It was a gun in historics in the 80s,twice the shifty Italians gave the then historic sports car championship to a GTO,when the Jag was the clear winner.

reminds me of when my mate had one a 206 GT and i had the E-type,we had some great drives,I'd destroy him on the straights and through the winding bits he would destroy me.

and yes they race hard but that's okay, but I still cannot believe the winners celerbration in the 64' GTO. Doing donuts is okay, but not with both doors open and flaying around bending themselves.

Man if I owned that car I would go mental.

... and has to get new doors made!.

These modern race drivers just have NO simpathy for these old cars. Heck just close the fncken doors and then do your donut!

I flinched when that went by...ohhh well....think it argued with another car coming into the dinky chicane

If your car is faster than the fastest E's I saw there...then it is VERY fast...they certainly wern't hanging about....not doubting what you say, but how tractable is it to drive????

Bobby rahl lost a wheel that car would have won the TT for not the wheel coming off.

Somehow both of the cars in this pic were listed in the program as 1963 E-Type Lightweights. I think Newey has made some "improvements". But looking back at the timing info on Goodwood's site, it never ran higher than 4th. The car that really would have won, if not for mechanical issues, was the 330 LMB #19. That car was bad fast.

if you look at the drivers driving the last part of the race Rahl was the quickest in the latter part of the race,he was catching them all then the wheel fell of.

    Err,not quite Rob.
Rahal only did about half a lap prior to the wheel situation.
We were there, having said that I have,nt seen the footage you,re speaking of.
    Maybe the footage was doctored.

Talking to a guy that raced at that meeting, general feeling was that Neway had held his own against better drivers and with Rahal in the car they would have swamped the cars in front..
If you look at the time sheets they were only 11 seconds behind when they swapped drivers with about 2/3 of the race to go.
I'm told most teams had there best drivers in at the start.
Neway was a second slower then the fastest lap of the event, the time sheets show the leading cars were much slower in the second half of the event, thats when Rahal would have been driving.

Yep you,re correct,it,s the way you wrote it to indicate that Rahal was catching.
Adrian IS a very good, quick driver in his own right, not like some showpony owners that make the'star driver' do all the work.
