Just a thought the Bamford GTO64 is 4399GT? . Does that mean it is the first car to win an original Goodwood TT and a Revival celebration, although the original win was in 63 with the 62 style body?

Thanks - I was wondering about that. Why was it described as a 250LM?

Another question I have was concerning car#7, described in the programme as a 365P. The only 365P I know was the 3 seater prototype which inspired the styling for the Dino 206/246 and which had nothing to do with racing. Was there such a thing as a 365P from 1964? I didn't see the car during the weekend so there is no photo.

    Hi Onno,
365P in the programme stands for the prototype 365P #0836 of David Piper. 365P2 and 365P2/3 variations also exist.

I for one will not go to this meeting.
The LWT e-types are putting out 380bhp!they sure are not 3.8 litres.
My E-type is 4.5 litres all the gear and its running state of the art motec injection I'm flat out getting 320bhp,built by the best jag mechanic in Australia.
how many of the top TT cars are historic log booked?

When someone as Adrian Newey owns a Jag with "ground effects" and Nick Mason owns this GTO, it is a given, that 2010 will show in the form of technical development.
I still think it was a superlative spectacle that was thrilling and extremely competitive throughout the race, much more entertaining than any F1 race. Besides, it is cool to see neck to neck racing and such close dicing with passing being the norm. Clearly, this is not the case in all categories, with the resulting less excitement as the only passing is on the first lap and later, the back-markers.
Braking, is another issue altogether, as carbon blah blah pads, being the norm.
I would be interested in knowing, who in vintage racing, and in any category, races as in their era with the original bits...
I agree with the issues of non-originality, but even my lowly vintage racing Alfa is 10 secs. faster than it used to be in its time on the same track, and it is 100% amateur built.
    Regards, Alberto

The Piper car is indeed a 365P, but the c/n is 0824...............one of the two he owns! One has the rebuilt chassis of the original, written-off, 0824 with the engine that was in his 365P2/3 (0836) from 1965 onwards; the other has engine 0824.

The 365P was built as a 330P and given the same type of enlarged 2-cam 4.4-litre engine as the P2s got before they were sold to the concessionaire teams in 1965, replacing the 4-cam 4-litres and 3.3-litres which went into the P3s and F1s for 1966.

My understanding is that all cars that finish on the podiums at a Goodwood race have to undergo a post race capacity check, certainly a couple of winning cars in the saloon car race have not been invited back in following years after failing this test.

That's Adrian Newey's car. Prepared by the Red Bull mechanics. I've heard there's a certain amount of carbon fibre in the car and the engine has certainly appeared in a very un-FIA condition although at Goodwood it was running a points distributor (and mis-firing at the top of the rev range!). Probably the quickest E-Type but not necessarily totally legal in period.
