Yes, 0844 was there, being pedalled hard - his best time was only a tenthe slower than the 1990 Le Mans-winning Jaguar also driven by a hotshoe.

    Also there were a 225S, 375Plus, 246/F1/60, 500/625 F1, 250GTO, 365GTB/4/C, 158 F1, 312T3, F187/88 F1, F399, F2001, F2002, and 550GTS Maranello; and static a 126C F1.

I'll try to get some pictures on here if I can sometime.

It's great to see her run at Goodwood again. I remember when Coco drove her up the hill in CanAm trim in 98 wearing a Blue Blazer and Gucci loafers.

These three were taken at Silverstone on June 6th; the first two are a 196s of which I don't know the owner or s/n.

The third one is David Piper's Ferrari 330P2/3 s/n 0836 from 1965-66, which apparently took part in the test day on the Friday but didn't race. When I first saw this car in 1986, it had P4-like bodywork, which was changed to what it has now in about 1988. It was badly crashed (by another driver) in practise for the Goodwood Revival meeting a couple of years ago, and has just been repaired and repainted from red to green.

Tony, not meaning to hijack this thread, but if there will be any FerrariChatters at Revival perhaps we could organize a meet-up at the track or (even better) a nearby pub. This will be our third Revival. On the Thursday we'll be staying at the Halfway Bridge Inn, then at Duncton Mill, near Petworth, for the rest of the weekend.

I've found out that the front-engined Ferrari at Silverstone was a 246s from 1959, s/n 0778, and it now belongs to Juan Barazi.

    Hello

I've been at the Festival and will cover the Revival as well for some intern. magazines.
I usually arrive on Thurs...and I would like to meet some FChatters to join a beer...or two

I suggest one of the following pubs: (my favourite ones)

    1) Anglesey Arms - Halnaker/Chichester 01243 - 773474
    2) The Fox Goes Free - Charlton Nr. Goodwood 01243 - 811461
    3) The Royal Oak Inn - East Lavant 01243 527434

I can highly recommend all of them.

    Helmut,

My wife and I will be having dinner with friends at The Royal Oak on either Friday or Saturday (I'll know which in a few days). It would be a good place for an F-Chatter gathering if we can find some people interested in that.

    Hi Jack

I have booked a table for two at the Royal Oak on Fri some weeks ago.
All the three pubs on my list (see previous email) are very busy during the Goodwood Festival days because of their nice atmosphere and delicious meals.

    Hi Guys

Ist Time for Goodwood - my son and I. Would love to have a "Pint" - strike that - a liter, with other like minded owners/fans. But where. I don't know the area, and it sounds like the 3 mentioned might be too crowded.

    Cheers in any case.

Warren...The Royal Oak is about the best-located. You won't be able to find any place within a few miles that won't be crowded.

Tony....I'm impressed that Hardman's a friend of yours. I really admire his driving. He certainly doesn't hold anything back and it's a big thrill watching him go through Madgwick. I hope you get your ride in the 330P3/4!

All the three places are very busy during a Goodwood event that's why I have posted the phone number.

I normally book a table for 2...3...4....to avoid problems.

The Anglesey Arms at Halnaker is just a 5min drive from the circuit and serves a very delicious dinner (and good value for money).

"The Fox Goes Free" at Charlton is a 400yr Old Flint Free House with a large garden set. (just 10min from the circuit to the North)

    reg. the 330 P3/4:
I would prefer to see the photographers name with the pic-

    reg. Peter Hardman:
he's a great chap and very competitive driver indeed.
I saw him at the "Modena Cento Ore Classic" racing Harry Leventis 250 LM. He was 2min+ in the overall lead....before the flipped the LM in the third but last special stage. So: noboday is perfect :) :)

I am undecided regarding renting a car - or using local transportation, if convenient. We are staying in Chichester (the Suffolk House) and it looks like getting to and from Goodwood is very convenient without the hassle of parking, traffic congestion, and the like.
But what about access to other locations - for example the recommended Pubs or other places.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Warren,

Here's the way we do it, and it's worked out fine for us: We fly in to Gatwick (much more convenient to West Sussex than is Heathrow), rent a car and drive down to Goodwood. Check with your hotel to see what their parking arrangements are. Having a car is a real convenience and gives you the freedom to visit places public transportation can't take you. Traffic around Goodwood is well managed and parking at the circuit is easy as well. The only potential problem is if you're uncomfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road. My wife is an excellent navigator, so I can concentrate on traffic without being concerned with whether or not I'm getting us lost! If you don't have a good navigator with you and it's your first trip, public transportation might be the best solution for you, although the way to the circuit is pretty well marked once you get within a couple of miles. Supposedly, limiting ticket sales to advance purchasers only will relieve some of the crowding.

    Helmut,

We'll be having dinner at The Royal Oak on Saturday night. Hope to see you (and other F-chatters) there!

I would prefer to rent a car to be flexible. There's enough parking space around the circuit BUT you should arrive very very early each morning to avoid long traffic jams.
The public transport system works but you have to leave the circuit earlier than you would normally do having a car with you.
And don't forget: you have to dress yourself in contemporary clothes or look alike - another good reason to have a car with you.
Warren - please arrive on Thursday morning - there is a lot to see and it is less crowded.

    Jack
I have to check where I have already booked and let you know where I will be.

However quys, the Goodwood Revival is the most best European classic car event indeed. I'm German living just 25miles from the Nurburgring and covering about 30 events per year - both Goodwood events are not to be missed.

I would love to get there thursday morning - but my wife has to be dropped off at Gatwick early PM (after a week in London) to go home. Couldn't get her to stay for the event.
No trouble with the wrong side of the road, the only time I was really uneasy was when we brought a car over from the continent. Driving on the left with a lefthand drive car is a bit unnerving. Can't see to pass. Good thing my wife is a good driver and could advise me.
As far as dress code is concerned - I think I can get by. I could even dig out a pair of black and white wingtips if I were really pressed.
I suppose I will recognize all of you by the fanatic look in your eye.

    Cheers
    Warren
