That decision has not been made yet. I do know last year was the "first" year we did not participate in at least 10 years and it we missed it terribly. I really missed doing smokey burnouts for the fans lined up on both sides of the street ;-)
The Ferrari 312T5 gave us a little show downtown......Whatever you bring should be tracked, just stay away from the group 6 people!
Great pics! I had recorded both episodes for a friend at work that missed it. those pics are great. I dont think its fair that one guy can "showboat" and do burnouts/donuts while another competitor following him may get tied up behind him if he's going for a "speed" run. Still an amazing event I'd like to see one day.
How close can one get to the action in the paddocks etc on the Friday? Or are you still on the outside looking in. The Molecomb grandstand looks quite good.
At the Festival of Speed access is not an issue. At the Revival of Speed it depends: - access to the pits for regular cars - only looking in from the outside for the supercars Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can go damn near anywhere except: Driver lounge area Inside False Grid area, but you can almost touch cars at back, but crowd is huge you can barely walk around Sat/Sunday. I highly advise coming on Thursday night for Friday viewing. The crowds are big but you can walk around better on Friday. Thursday was great for me after setup was done. I got to meet all the guys on the Renault F1 team, etc.....they really liked the car we had which opened the door right up.....same for factory Mercedes that was right next to us. As far as Ferrari, I could have sat in the cars if I wanted to on Thursday by just asking as they were setting up too. But for non-crew, Friday is your day. Sat/Sun you can get around but huge crowds......it's one of the largest motorsports events I've ever been too including INDY. It's spread out very well and you just can' see it all..... BTW, I have more photos on my website: http://www.moorespeed.com/news/reports/index.html click on photos & report, there is also a link on that page for more photos at the Toad Hall site
