I'll soon be needing to change my F430 tires and I do like the idea of staying in control after a puncture and being able to drive it with a flat. Are these things a gimmick? I assume not as Goodyear are a top brand they are mentioned in the owners manual. Not wanting to start a war about what tire has the best grip, just wondered if anyone has had the misfortune of having a flat on these and what your thoughts are.

I think you may have to have the optional TPMS otherwise you won't know you have a puncture.

I'm like you and also prefer to remain in control after a puncture...nothing wore than being stranded on the side of the road in a Fcar

I usually take it to my nearby discount tire or someplace like that and use whatever brand they have. usually Michelin pilots or pirellis

You might want to read this article. I suspect you feel like they might help you maintain control if a tire goes away and that may be true at normal highway speeds in a straight line. If you are whistling along on a curvy road and a tire goes, the run flat will not help much. An elephant to race horse comparison, but I had run flats on my H1 Hummer and removed them because of the weight and balance problems. I suspect that they will do nothing good for the way your Ferrari handles.
