Here is a file I created during the Daytona 24 practice using GPS. If you have Google Earth loaded on your computer, unzip this file and double-click it. It uses a .kml file extension that will automatically load Google Earth to view the track. Be sure to zoom in and look at the different lines through any corner... You can even see our exact pit location along pit lane... Very Cool! Now you have a view of the track surface to see the exact line taken. Most data systems have track mapping but never overlayed on an actual view of the tarmac..

You're right Peter, 3 laps. I thought you would like that... How about the Nurburgring in 3D? :)

Doesn't look like the N-ring to me, Nordschleife or the F1 track.

    Coolness!

Did this help the driver out at all, as far as improving the lap times?

That looks much more recognizable very cool that it has the elevation factored into it with the color for the speed.

    Hi Ernie,

What I do is record a fast pro driver and use his lines to instruct the less talented drivers on where they need to be on the track. Sometimes I find their lines are not even in the same zipcode... ;) It always produces better laptimes...

That is awesome and will certainly help drivers to get on the correct line! You can pinpoint each line to a time. Obviously when other cars are involved it will change. Thanks for sharing!

    Hey FBB,
The GPS module is designed to be interfaced with the AIM data system. The best choice for you would be the MXL Pista (like I did in Sheehan's car) at $1799.00 and then the GPS CAN expansion module at $599.00. GPS will handle speed, laptimes, file directories (the car now knows what track it's at) and 3D and Google track maps.. Couldn't be easier... :)

Very cool. The maps of the pro drivers you can overlay on your computer that you have in a private stash that you give to buddies of Fchat?

I do what to get rid of my crap dash so the pista is looking better to me. Lets see 1000 on new skis, 3000 on new shotgun...O.K. I swear you are next and as it warms up I take my car offline for maintenance and new go fast goodies.

    JoTec,

Can this aim dash be integreated into the upper space of a 348 steering wheel and connected by a cable or something to power and sensors etc.? Do you have pictures or a way to set this up?

    Hey FBB,
The MXL can not be placed on a whell as the harness is to bulky for that. You could use an EVO Pro system but the cost is higher than the MXL. You could simply make a bracket that holds the MXL just in front of the 348 gauge cluster. This how I do all my Porsche 996 GT3 Cup cars.
