Another excellent way to waste time in front of the computer... Google Maps streetview is now available for much of populated Australia. Just go to maps.google.com.au , look up the map and then select streetview, and you'll see a panoramic image of the location. I've already found a 328 parked in the driveway of a certain NSW member, M
very cool! and yes, another time waster theres a few privacy concerns being raised, you finding your mates 328 is an example
The detail has been obscured so that you can't make out face sor read number plates. I'm amazed at the coverage though, they imaged the dirt road leading to my mother in laws farm in the Barossa ( pretty obscure ), and even my parents coast house ( again, not on a main road ). Looking at some of the junk infront on my place, it looks like Canberra was done sometime earlier this year, say January - March timeframe. Pretty cool for planning drive days. M
yeah it was a summer job. previous owner still @ my house and trees have their leaves/nature strip burnt brown! obscured or not, ppl will still be recognised, potentially in a situation theyd prefer to stay private! apparently you can request something be obscured further...i think theyll be handling a few such demands
My (elderly) neighbour across tbe road is mowing his lawn, you can tell its a male person, but that's about it. It's probably the only way he'll ever get on the web M
Welcome to yesterday Mike! (haha i kid, i kid) Let the posting of funny pics begin! http://www.coresworld.net/google_redfern.jpg
Yeah as was NSW, my friend spotted the google van drive past him around that time. You're right about coverage, the amount of random small streets and places in woop-woop covered is pretty good. Better then most US cities when they 1st rolled it out there.
I'd say at least mid-March because I found my car the station and I only started parking it there after I got back from overseas.
I think this is a great idea! I've been a big fan of the American version for ages and I'm now happy it's come to oz. The parts of WA that i've looked at appear to be recorded around November/December. I've also found my first exotic @ 7 Napoleon Street, Cottesloe, WA. Black Bentley GTC [SK1988]. In real life, i've actually shot it many times before. You can't hide from Josh! mwahahahaha lol
Yeah had a look, not much on Chapel except a nice 356. There's a red 599 parked outside Zagames as well.
I found another exotic. This time it's a black Ferrari F430 and it's about 50 metres down the street from the Black Bentley GTC. I've shot this F430 before too and sat in it It's got a black interior with yellow stitching. Ball polished rims and yellow calipers. The owner unfortunately has scratched the right hand side of the front bumper .
We've posted about 5 pages of them so far http://aussieexotics.com/forum/off-topic/google-streetview-australia-t1362.0.html;msg28369#msg28369 First thing I spotted was mhh's porker! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't have to use "*". I assume you meant viewing/playing. I'm with 98 Octane. My sun shades are down so must have been earlier this year.
That's weird - I've only ever stopped there a couple of times since they put a no parking sign there. Good spot though.
Found a TDF Blue Ferrari F430 Spider. I've shot it in real life many times in the same place as you can see it on maps, also at a couple of other places around WA. 95 Hay Street, Subiaco, WA. Near PMH.
