The amount of resources that company seems to have is insane.

 

I tried adding the Jabber account to my Trillian 2.x.x Pro.

Other jabber servers work. Google's make my trillian crash.

I shall avoid.

 

Google's taking over the world. This week alone:
- Google desktop
- Google sidebar (part of the desktop)
- Instant Messenging
- Skype rumors (see: http://www.tribeworks.com/home/vibe.asp )
- Rumors of Google Finance (see: http://business2.blogs.com/business2blog/2005/08/new_rumor_googl.html )

Google, IMO = the next Microsoft

Any feedback on the desktop/sidebar? Whats involved?

 

I just 'heard' Antony via the google messenger and was shocked when it actually sounded better than any speakerphone I've used. Trying to dig up my mic right now..

If anyone wants on my google list (since I doubt there's going to be a mad rush to adopt it) PM me.

It looks cool as hell, but I never feel like closing out all of my windows to install it. I'll probably install it over the weekend.

The sidebar looks amazing. A single place on my desktop for RSS feeds, weather, news, and computer search (thus eliminating the horrendously slow and resource intensive MS search functionality) pretty much eliminates me using a browser for about 75% of my webpage viewing. It looks so efficient that I wonder if I'll ever spend time on my computer at all anymore.

 

The evil of google will stop one day. I am willing to embrace the dark side in order to eliminate this postule from the face of the planet. LS may be laughing, but soon it will be over.
