Cgt clutch is annoying even after you get used to it. Cgt cant get the power to the ground in the low gears and insides the cockpit you have no idea the cgt sounds great. Scud clutch is better, gets the power down, and sounds insane inside the cockpit.
Really? I heard from within EAG that there was quite a bit of frustration over the pace of the completion of the job. Always interesting to hear a different perspective (especially when it’s from a drive to source), but I got the impression that it wasn’t the smoothest of sailing getting the job over the line.
Just my 2 cents, EAG did my F430 spider, they are conversion experts at this point. Car came out stellar, really there are no words to describe how freakin' amazing it is. They know exactly what to do and how to do it and they move it right along.
You'd have to reach out to them for details as turnaround impacted by number of cars in queue, parts inventory, etc In my case, car was dropped off first week of Oct, I got it 3rd week of Nov HOWEVER, I had the variators replaced and so there was a 3 week wait for parts from eurospares during which no work was done. Also shipping took about 3 days each way, so actual work time was maybe 3-4 weeks. Considering that it's not my daily, and taking into account how long these things CAN take, I thought it was a very reasonable turnaround.
Highly dependent on any additional work added as part of the conversion and of course # of cars already in the queue.
That sounds spot on to me. Did you confirm if your car was fitted with a clutch pedal switch? I heard that there was an issue with a bunch of cars not having clutch pedal switches fitted. This isn't just a safety feature to allow the car to start, but interacts with numerous engine control functions. Not a big deal to install one if yours' is missing, but hopefully its something EAG are getting after.
I honestly don't know about the clutch pedal switch that's interesting I'll have to ask I do find it weird to be able to push the start button without having the clutch down having had so many cars where I have had to do that Does this effectively mean I do not have a clutch pedal switch?
I dont believe the clutch pedal switch is included in the kit. Miller installed one for me on my 430 and doing one on the scud also.
Thanks guys Anyone have any info on this? Can I DIY it? I'll start investigating, hopefully EAG can provide some insight
Yeah, the clutch pedal switch as a starter override seems to have been disabled on EAG's ROM's, but it isnt just used for this function. Its tied into a bunch of things: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
On gated 360s, the switch, if there is one, also doesn’t override the starter, so you need to be sure you’re in neutral or clutch in before starting. I also have a question about what clutch they put in. Was it OEM or a Kevlar one? I’ve read that Kevlar clutches done right are better than OEM in gated cars but problematic in F1s. A gated Scuderia seems ideal for an up-rated clutch. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
!ttforcefed, do you know if they were able to find and use Ferrari parts 11 (180516) and 12 (133555)? Image Unavailable, Please Login
if you mean when they did the conversion, I'm 99% sure they use the existing clutch, as I understand it, they swap out the robot (the F1 mechanism) and connect manually operating lines, etc so you are moving the parts, not the F1. The clutch itself is unchanged. Unless of course you WANT to do that, I did not change it.
Cool build! I am torn that you gated the best f1 transmission ever made. Challenge wheels feel and look so much better than stock. I have a set of carbon center caps but don't like how they protrude so much. Went from stock exhaust to S-Line but missed the aural explosion when the valves open at full throttle. Now very happy with the Kline and raises the pitch to where it should be (vs stock, S-Line has wonderful pitch). Consider the GruppeM intakes, another functional and visual upgrade. Shoutout @freshmeat who's passion for this car is exemplified in his mods. BS
@ttforcefed , part (180516) seems to be nowhere to be found, any chance you can ask Miller how they pulled this off? did they make the part? or use something similar? Thank you ahead of time for any insight you can gain/provide.
